When I go into mine craft on my iMac, every time I click on something I hear an odd voice saying "click" and there are also noises in the game when I hover my mouse over wood, water, etc. It makes it impossible to play with the sound on. It only started today. I tried deleting the game and reinstalling it but the same thing happens. I also tried going in to the sound and video options but I can't stop it happening.

Gotcha! haha. April Fools 😃

in all seriousness, you can disable this by muting your game sounds or using 1.7.4

If I mute my game sounds, I can't hear mobs. If I use 1.7.4, the sounds continue.

They do? Hmm ok thanks I'll investigate that.

this problem was not resolved as the text would say I to am still experiencing the strange voice mine occurs when I walk on blocks or click anything it even took control of my mob sounds so I have no idea what mob is coming or near me making my minecraft experience ruined please reopen this and have it fixed

You're still experiencing the voice because it's intended.

I want to play mincraft without the strange noises. Fix this please. I's a very bad joke. I can't believe that you people don't realize that.

Please. Minecraft is a video game. Not playing it for one day is possible, isn't it?

Minecraft is also a product, with an implied promise of future performance, that people have already paid for. This vendor has no respect for that contract. Fine, have your April Fools' laugh, but not to offer your paid-up customers any opt-out from this obnoxious whim of a prank is unethical. I bought the beta a long time ago, and I've always enjoyed the game and enjoyed recommending the game to others, but this "joke" is just asinine and Mojang's lack of respect for their paying subscriber base shows a real lack of gratitude and humility.

It's the second of April now. Please fix this bug.
