Hello! After updating both of these computers to Mavericks (OS X 10.9), they run Minecraft extremely slow. I have tried Oracle's Java 7 and Apple's Java 6. I used to average 60FPS+ on both at high settings, which may sound crazy due to their lower end specs. Anyway, there is a small outcry from the gaming community. Many gamers use Hackintoshes to game on, and now, many games are messed up. Some developers have pushed patches out, and those have worked well, but, Mojang hasn't submitted any patches for this, yet. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Now, on the MBP, I am getting maybe 20 on a good day, on the Mini, it gets 5 - 15 FPS. This isn't a hardware issue, I decided to dual boot Windows XP on the mini, and I can easily get 60FPS with VSync, Far, Fancy, and Smooth Lighting. If you'd like, I can link to several unresolved forum threads from around the web. The Mini should be playable on the lowest settings. Nothing I do to the settings help it. Optifine did nothing. Its really strange.
Hmm this is really odd. My late 2011 could do 120FPS+ in Mavericks. However, nothing I can do about this, I'm just a moderator. I'll leave it open for now.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Mavericks runs Minecraft perfectly fine here.
Sounds more like a Hackintosh issue
Because this is the first I've heard of issues with Minecraft and Mavericks, probably.
I'm getting about 50-90FPS on my rMBP with Mavericks (Intel Iris), and got ~120FPS on my Late 2011 MBP with Mavericks (AMD Radeon). What FPS are you getting now, compared to the 60+ from before?
