Continuous Lag Spikes

Random 1/2 second Lag spikes during single player sessions in 14w29b. Screen freezes quite often. Lag mostly disappears and FPS increases with VBO off. Video glitches occasionally with VBO on or off (horizontal lines quickly flash.)
