All torches in all of my minecraft worlds (creative, survival) look like wheat in the inventory, and also when I place them somewhere.
It's automatically activated when I open up the world. There is nothing special that happens to create the bug, it just exists in my world now.

To fix, I guess just reinstall your .jar and or assets file (I don think assets store the actual ingame textures)
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
