When you try to ride an untamed horse (in creative and in survival) you cannot ride it, even with nothing in your hand.
Reproducing this error should be easy, just find or summon an untamed horse and attempt to ride it.
I searched before posting this, and all the horse related issues are old, for the updates that introduced them.

Might be MC-61535
Maybe it's just my computer, because I tried summoning a horse with the /summon EntityHorse command, and i was still unable to ride it, even in 1.8pre-3, so i'm a bit out of it, not something i'm too worried about though. I don't ride horses often

Cannot reproduce.
Tested in 1.8-pre1.
Used spawn egg to create untamed horse
Had no issue riding horse until it kicked me off
