Video: Cave Spiders attack through solid floors when aggro on player

When aggro on a player, cave spiders are able to attack through up to one block of solid obstruction. This did not happen before 1.8.0.

Please see video at this link for demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29fvWUg1_oY

In the video, the bug is demonstrated on a Vanilla Survival server. The XP farm it is demonstrated at was designed in a creative superflat world with a different seed, at the same coordinates as the server. In case this is a positional bug, a 1.7.10 and 1.8.0 version of the creative world are linked below for testing purposes.

This bug makes abandoned mineshaft exploration strictly impossible in no-regeneration mode. Hope it's solved as soon as possible.

This is still an issue in snapshot 15w39c. I can not use cave spiders in an experience farm without being poisoned no matter what material i have used including blocking it off completely with a one thick block (several different types of blocks) wall. Will this be fixed eventually?

This is still an issue in 1.9pre3 - here is a video demonstration. https://youtu.be/Foz12cl7oYE

There are a number of bug reports about attack radius that are all very similar. MC-2310, MC-18326, MC-50668, MC-63965, MC-71834, and MC-74907 are all about the attack radius of mobs extending through blocks. (Some mobs are more bugged then others, but it’s the same basic problem). There are also a few related issues:

MC-1297 is the same as the above, but for players.
MC-3059 is the same as the above, but for arrows.

Most or all of these reports should be consolidated into one, as they are all caused by the same base issue.
