if you have a bow enchanted with Infinity, and tipped arrows, using the bow will still fire the tipped arrows, but will not consume them. The arrows cannot be picked up, as is normal with the Infinity enchantment, but they do have the potion effect.
On one hand, this works exactly as one might expect, with a naive understanding of the enchantment. However, given the prior restrictions on the infinity enchantment, it's unexpectedly powerful. Past behavior would suggest either that the Infinity bow would only fire normal arrows, or that it would still consume tipped arrows, and only fire normal arrows for free.

With a normal bow and an arrow with effect, when you miss your target you can pick up the arrow on the ground but sometimes you can pick up 63 arrow with effect ( if you shoot poison arrow and you miss the target, you can pick up 63 arrow with poison )
but if you have an arrow of regeneration and normal bow and you throw it you lose it. In contrast with a bow with infinity you can throw all just want to get an arrow of those more expensive
the bug of doubleing the amount of arrows you have has been reported, and fixed for the next version already
This is still a snapshot, it is unstable so using arrows of speed crashing the game is a mute point. As soon as the 1.9 is out as stable they would not crash the game. And where is the proof of arrows of speed crashing a game?
but you just said that it crashed the game so which is it? of course the other effects are extremely useful but they still come at a price. sooner or latter you will run out of food and you won't be able to use the tipped arrows on yourself.
I had notice but it is okay my best friend was the same and she still has trouble sometimes. that is correct but again that is kind of the point of having arrows with potion effects. I could see an issue if one arrow of water breathing gave you 8m of water breathing but it does not. using normal potions for the effects is better than having to hit yourself often to keep the effect going. long term you are better off using the potions and leaving the arrows as a just in case thing.
posibly intended
