Blindness And Night Vision Doesn't Create Complete Blindness Anymore

Ive Usually Made FNAF Maps On Minecraft, And Messing Around With Effects And Found Out That Blindness And Night Vision Create Complete Blindness, Perfect For Jumpscares And Effects For Map Makers, But After Updating Minecraft, The Combination Of Night Vision And Blindness Now Make This (Image 2). Why? What Happened? Why Do We Need Blindness WIth A Brighter Circle/Floor? Whats The Point?
It Would Be Awesome If You Could Fix That Bug And Bring Back Complete Blindness, Or At Least Have It As A New Effect For 1.9
Thanks So Much For The Support! This Really Helps! 😃

Fixed in 15w31c.

Can still reproduce in 15w31c (if this is actually a bug); see 2015-08-03_11.53.30.png.

It seems counter intuitive that adding night vision to blindness completely blacks out the screen (instead of simply brightening up the visible area); there should be another separate effect that does that (or something like Blindness II).

I'm having this problem as well. When I combine Night Vision with Blindness, my screen turns completely black! I'm making a horror map and this is just devastating to work with. Please fix!

@unknown: This ticket is about not making the screen pitch black, your issue is the exact opposite (MC-10480) - but that's in fact Working as Intended.

Wait, first MC-10480 was intended, and now this is intended, I'm confused...

@unknown that's of no help at all...
@unknown can you explain why this is all of the sudden intended?

Most likely they don't care at all what the two effects do in combination, only what they do individually.

Actually, this was already fixed again, in 15w51b it creates total blindness again
