Amplified, VERY far from spawn, Mesa and Taiga Biomes, barely any lag at all.
Doesn't fix itself until you reload, then, looks perfectly normal.

Hmm, would it be the same in two worlds with the same seed? I also saw it earlier in the end mini islands thingy, (the place you find the end cities) in the b-snapshot after the end gateway was added, but it was stone bricks and sea lanterns... Was it 15w31b?

Have you ever made a superflat world, logged out, made another one, and they switch back in forth in a checkerboard between the two? It sounds similar... The way superflat works is it predicts what block will come next, sometimes causing the outermost chunk to not have grasss until "populated" Since the end islands are glitched and they are technically structures, it predicts there would be nothing. Updating the outermost chunk often causes the blocks you place in the next column to copy throughout. There is nothing in the end chunks (except spawn area) other than the islands.
Aha! Notice that all the terrain is not edited at all, by natural stuff, (like water), or players.
So, the water and (which decayed from grass) on the leftmost chunk that is loaded. If I were to update the chunk it would fix itself.
A few related issues have been fixed since this issue was reported. Does your problem still exist in 15w44b?
