Sometimes, in single player mode when the environment music is playing in the background and you pause the game by pressing esc it wont stop playing; it still keeps playing. Two pieces of music even three can play at the same time. This different type of music can't be muted by turning music volume down.
The music doesn't even stop when you leave the save; it still plays everywhere including in the title screen and when you enter servers.
Doesn't happen with Jukebox music.
It happens in creative mode, in servers and in survival mode.
The condition that makes it happen is usually if you open a world, a music song happens, you close the world, open a new save or server and then the same music piece plays and it doesn't stop if you leave the save.

Intentional; this only happens in Multiplayer and in LAN worlds.

@unknown, where is multiplayer mentioned? All we know the reporter means singleplayer too.

Singleplayer too? Where does it say that?
I can confirm on 16w15b, 1.9.2, and 1.9 that all sounds pause when in a GUI (including the game menu) the game menu when in singleplayer, and that they do not stop on LAN worlds or multiplayer.

All we know the reporter means singleplayer too.
Still no word from the reporter...

I think it happens in multiplayer too.

In multiplayer it's intended as the game doesn't pause.
Again, is this an issue in singleplayer?

Please do not mark unreleased versions as affected.
You don't have access to them yet.

The music type can't be muted by the music slider; It also plays when you leave a world and go to menu.
