Workaround
Manually changing each skin in launcher_skins.json
to include the new cape UUID will make them return. To find the new UUID, simply add a new skin with your cape and copy the string from the file.
This issue occurred in the beta version, but I didn't know how to reproduce it. I've finally noticed the pattern.
Steps to Reproduce:
In a previous version of the launcher, add a skin with a cape;
Add a skin without a cape;
Update the launcher.
Observed Results:
The skin with the cape disappears, the one without it stays. The skins still exist in launcher_skins.json
. This is an issue with the new version specifically, as the skins return if you go back.
Expected Results:
Both skins are still there.
Notes: Tested with the Moderator cape. Upon adding a new skin with the cape after the update, I noticed that the texture UUID seems to have changed, That may be what's causing the issue and may not be fixable.

@unknown - This project is for the Minecraft Launcher. Bedrock does not have any official launcher currently.
