Same as MCL-1901, MCL-1902, MCL-1903, and i'm sure there are others. I have the same problem on 4 separate computers.

Does anyone know that the new files are for? Because they are alot, and they require a lot of download.

Try to launch MC as an Admin, "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" for both PC and router/whatever you are using.

@Galaxy, the launcher update changes the way files are handled, using hashes instead. The new files provide hashes for the game assets.
