I experience a game crash on launch since before October 21st (don't know exactly when it started, sorry). This is how it goes:
I double click the Minecraft Launcher shortcut on desktop => The launcher opens.
I click "Play" in the launcher, the non-modded version => The game crashes, cf. attachment MC_CrashAfterLaunch.png
I click "Close" and press "Play" again (same non-modded version). The game launches correctly and I can play.
On October 21st (or shortly afterwards), I install OptiFine. The bug disappears. Could be coincidence I guess? I did launch the game almost every day though, so it was noticeable.
On November 2nd, I install the new Win10/11 launcher. My OptiFine version is no longer available in the download list (I guess I will have to reinstall it). I open the launcher and press "play". The bug is back! Same 'exit code:0'.
On second launch (click "play") the game runs.
I can play, but it's annoying.

Sorry for not replying sooner (work and other stuff). A quick update regarding the above:
1. OptiFine no longer 'fixes' the error: when I reinstalled the mod some time in November, it caused the same faulty behaviour: the game will crash first time I launch it (from the new launcher), then on a second time, it will run fine. So ever since that point in November, whenever I launch the game, I need to launch it twice (annoying, but at least it works 🙂).
2. Since yesterday (February 14th, 2022) I no longer get the "exit code: 0" error message. The overall behaviour as described in my initial bug report remains the same, but I now get "exit code: -1073741819". I have looked up what I could find on this code: I do not use any recording software (D3DGear or something?) which seemed to cause this error.

Does 1.18.1 launch with the default, Mojang's launcher alone? No mods like Optifine. Otherwise modded issues will resolve invalid here. Mojang doesn't write the mods. I need "vanilla" logs.

Could you answer few questions regarding this issue, it will help with the investigation:
Does this issue occur on newest version of the Launcher/newest version of Java game?
Are you logged in in both Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account?
Have you tried signing out of all your Windows Apps, and the signing in again?
Is your Windows and associated apps (Xbox app, MS store) up-to-date?
Do you have enough free space on your disc drive?
Could you provide us with logs without any mods?
Could you provide us with a video for this issue?

Still happens on the latest version of launcher. I also noticed that if I click the play button and then click off of the launcher Minecraft crashes. It does this once or twice.

Just added a launcher_log and a Video of the crash happening. Note: I cut out part of the video because the original video was over 5 minutes. I also added my username to the file names of the files I uploaded.
