Oh no! Something went wrong, and we couldn't connect to Minecraft services. Try again.

Recently migrated to previously owned Microsoft account with my Mojang account. Worked fine for several months. Was recently prompted to download new launcher from Microsoft store and uninstall current one. Now launcher does not recognize my account as owning the game but Minecraft.net recognizes that I still have the game so it will not let me rebuy it. Just looking to have my old account work. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, tried from the Microsoft store and from downloading straight from the website to no success.

Similar thing is happening for me.  Owner of java version for many years.  Old (win 7/8) launcher works fine, but new version cannot to minecraft services and thus does not recognise me as a valid customer.  Have tried disabling firewalls, but error still occurs. I have ony one Microsoft account.

Support personelle have told me that there are known bugs in the new microsoft launcher, and to use the old launcher in the meantime.

There appear to be MANY duplicates of this error reported in different ways thoughout this project, some dating back to 2 November 2021:  e.g. MCL-19984.  I cannot find one that that has been assigned.  Numerous support messages are blaming people for not logging on with the correct microsoft account, but this ignores the appearance of the error message.

Received some help on reddit and it worked so I hope it will work for you too.

First I signed my Microsoft account out in both the Microsoft store and Xbox app. Secondly I uninstalled the Minecraft Launcher and all my Xbox apps (I think its only needed to uninstall the main Xbox app). I then restarted my PC and logged into my Microsoft account in the Microsoft store. Without installing any of my Xbox apps I downloaded the Minecraft Launcher from the store and launched it. Sign in with your Minecraft account and everything should be working as it should be.

Got the same problem, only able to play the demo because of this bug

I'm experiencing the same Issue as the original Reporter.

The old Launcher prompted me to install the new Launcher from the Microsoft Store which I did.

I then removed the old Launcher.

Upon trying to play with my friends I was faced with the same Broken Screen (1.PNG).

Somehow Minecraft/Microsoft seems to have forgotten that I already own Minecraft for several years... and wants me to buy it again? just for the new launcher experience...?

This is a completely different issue from the one that [Bot] Arisa linked to. Perhaps the bot made a mistake since this one is an issue from after downloading the new launcher on windows while that one is just an issue for logging into the launcher on mac

In that case maybe Anthony Spinelli could reopen the Ticket?

Since I'm not the original reporter I don't seem to have that ability... and there seems really no point in opening yet another duplicate (most likely the reason they use such a bot in the first place)
