I own minecraft on my one microsoft account and when migrating to the new launcher, nothing is working as intended. i have logged into the same account on both launchers with only the old one recognizing i have bought the game. clicking manage account on the new launcher brings me to my microsoft account which has purchased minecraft. i cant buy java, only redownload the new launcher, which doesnt recognize i have bought java.
I dont want to hear that this is an account issue; I only have one microsoft account, I could not have used the wrong one. This is the launcher having serious bugs that are being ignored. Ive noticed other users with similar issues being told they are simply having an account issue which is not a bug.
I have tried every solution suggested in MCL-16570, and am now waiting on a customer support response.
The microsoft store lets me review minecraft; which is something they only let you do if you own it (1 star for non functional launcher asking me to make purchases I already have).
SOLVED: I had changed primary emails after buying minecraft at some point, so even when using typing the correct email I had used to sign up, when microsoft login took over it applied my primary email instead of what I typed. I changed my primary email back to the one I had used when buying minecraft and the launcher is now working.

I am logged in via settings, that is my one and only microsoft account. clicking manage account brings me to the same place clicking manage account did on the old launcher. It is the correct account, and I am logged in and active. Just can't launch any of the games I own without repurchasing. This seems like a bug and not an account issue
You may have to use the previous launcher.
That page no longer has the previous launcher: double clicking on the download link for me downloads an installer; when I use the installer, it opens the new launcher. The previous launcher is also being phased out of use, and I would like the new launcher that we are being forced to use to function...
Its Windows 7/8. I get a message — We will be providing ongoing support for this launcher
Have you tried clicking "Try again" on the warning message at the bottom of the screen? Looks like Launcher thinks you're offline...
The try again button did nothing while I was still experiencing this issue.
I will repaste my last edit of the original post:

This was an issue where the microsoft login would automatically fill in whatever your primary email address is. I typed my correct email address many times, and it auto changes to whatever you have set as your primary email through outlook services. Not being able to log in properly while using the correct account and emails seems like a bug.
You need to log in through Settings, Accounts. It currently says "Player". Community Support should be able to assist.
