All textures are blank in older versions of Minecraft

Had this issue with 1.8.9, Installing forge 1.8.9 - 11.15.1.2318 seems to help too

A lot of my friends seem to have this issue in 1.7 versions, but not in 1.8 and higher. A lot of them have Intel or AMD GPUs and iGPUs too. But they have the exact same rendering issue as shown in the screenshots. Is there a fix for that?

Same issue on Windows 10 vanilla installation.

NVIDIA driver version 527.56 seems to have completely solved this exact issue for me.

Same issue here on Windows 11 22H2, Geforce RTX 3050 Laptop. Don't know driver version. Happens with every Minecraft version prior to 1.12.2.

For me happens between 1.7.10 and pre-releases beta 1.9

and it's not only in the official launcher, in Betacraft and MultiMC there's the same problem.

Hedreon is correct that upgrading the NVIDIA driver to 527.56 or later fixes this problem, and indeed NVIDIA's release notes for that driver version document this issue as fixed:

"Fixed Issues in Version 527.56 WHQL: ...
"- Older versions of Minecraft Java Edition show corruption on screen [3870232]"

I'd recommend updating the description of this bug (and closing it, since NVIDIA has fixed it).

I have the same problem but i have an intel gpu what do i do

Im on intel and i have this problem for versions 1.0-1.7.8

I have solved this BUG.

It seems that the old versions (1.7.10 or former )of Minecraft Java Edition are not compatible with the new versions of Intel graphics driver(for Intel Iris Intel Iris Xe Graphic, new versions mean 28 or later).

We need to change the Intel graphics driver to an old version( version 27 is okay for me, however, don‘t just back to the 1.0 Version, it won't work).

I have this problem but my system has Intel GPU graphics.

For me it happens between MC Java 1.0 and 1.7

I do not recommend closing the bug issue as there is no work around for Intel graphics..

I have the same issue but with 1.12.2

i have a ryzen 9 5900x and a rtx 3060 on 535 drivers

Hi, this is still happening, but I have Intel(R) HD530 graphics, completely up to date. I updated the drivers manually and also with the windows updater. I have been to Intel(R)'s website too. please resolve this issues, I would Really Like To Play Old Versions. All Versions Up To 1.8 are bugged. 1.8 is fine for me.

Can confirm, this is still occuring. Does anyone have a solution? Should i just rollback to previous Nvidia Driver?

I confirm it also happens from Intel and for all versions prior to 1.13, it seems as if the drivers did not read lwjgl 2 correctly but were able to do so with lwjgl 3, therefore in the versions with lwjgl 2 the game has the assets completely corrupted while in the versions with lwjgl 3 everything ok. I hope that Mojang, even if they don't want to solve the bug themselves, will notify Intel to at least ask for backwards compatibility, you can't let such a beautiful piece of software go to waste because video card manufacturers don't think about driver backwards compatibility

How do I change my Intel graphics driver to an older version? I have integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics, and I thought by changing the graphics driver to an older version, I would have to get an older graphics driver.

i suggest if you still having this issue update your drivers
