Loading screen stuck on sign in page

Hi there!

Could you answer few questions regarding this issue, it will help with the investigation: 

• Does this issue occur on Windows 10/11 version of the Launcher or Windows 7/8 version?

• Are you logged in in both Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account? 

• Have you tried signing out of all your Windows Apps, and the signing in again?

• Is your Windows and associated apps (Xbox app, MS store) up-to-date (check for updates regardless)? 

• Please also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.

• Do you use VPN or any of the incompatible software on machine you try to log-in?

@Zgajak I'm a regular helper of the Official Discord server (not the helper one) and I've seen at least a dozen other people report the same issue as the original poster.

Can you please advise what information I should ask them for, so I can add the information to this bug report?

He's not the only one with this problem, and apparently there are many others with it aswell, tried changing my DNS, wifi, tried hospot, tried reinstalling, repairing reseting everything i suppose yet it still shows me the same thing, a loading screen that spins and spins, here are my launcher logs if it's needed: https://paste.gg/p/anonymous/f6fef1e309df47ccb9ae42342da4fa6a

And answers to the questions: Yes, it occured to windows 10, I am logged in both xbox application and ms store and launcher with the same MS account, i've tried singing out but still the same loading screen, yes my stuff is up-to-date, i've tried unistalling the launcher and delete the .minecraft folder, reinstall and restart my computer, still the same loading screen, I did try to use a different wifi, tried with a hospot and neither fixed it.

Anyone running into the "loading forever" problem: 

1. First make sure there is not a second window asking for account sign-in anywhere. It may be off-screen or behind the launcher. Clicking the allay loading animation may also cause it to appear in some rare cases if it does not appear on its own. If there is one present or it does then appear, make sure it's asking for the right account and complete sign-in flow.

2. If that doesn't work, close the Launcher & open the Xbox app (https://aka.ms/DLXboxApp in case you don't have it yet) - sign out of the Xbox app if you were signed in. Then retry opening the launcher. If this works as expected, you should now see login options on the Launcher as well. Re-signing in should work now.

3. If neither of the above options work, close the Launcher and navigate to your .minecraft folder (at this location on your PC: %appdata%\.minecraft ). In that folder, there should be a file named either launcher_accounts.json or launcher_accounts_microsoft_store.json. Delete only that file -deleting both of the listed files, if both are present, should be safe; it's just important to not delete any other files/folders. Then re-open the launcher. If this works as expected, you should be prompted to sign in again. You could also try renaming the file rather than deleting to be safe.

Tell me if any of these steps helped.

Thanks for the suggested steps - unfortunately non of them worked. In my case for step #3, only launcher_accounts_microsoft_store.json existed.  Before deleting it I confirmed the contents was:

Once deleted, I relaunched the launcher, and the same issue persists. It's worth noting the launcher recreated  launcher_accounts_microsoft_store.json before I click "Microsoft Login"

My logs are very similar to others, i.e. lines such as

Hi!

Can you upload a video of this issue and launcher_log file from your .minecraft folder?

Anyone stuck w/allays spinning/loading: Most likely the "login" window is hidden under the launcher. check to see if there is a hidden window. 

There doesn't seem to be a hidden window for me, only the loading screen. I'll put up an attachment.

@unknown would you upload you launcher log file to this bug ticket?
