Capes are sometimes not properly saved in the skin servers, resulting in them being unequipped

I was using lunar but after I closed it and restarted it my cape started to disappear. I went online and also minecraft launcher. I clearly pressed equip but after I started the game it was gone. I closed the launcher and then opened the launcher and checked and found that I had clearly pressed equip but the cape was gone again.  Sorry for my bad english I hope u guys can understand ...        tq so much

I confirm that this bug exists, I attach a video. (I did not use third-party launchers)

Looks like mojang's launcher has a problem with skin management🙁

I can prove that this bug exists

This issue is unrelated to the launcher, since selecting a cape on minecraft.net doesn't prevent it from being unequipped later on. The skin/cape servers seem to be unable to properly store players' capes, resulting in them being unequipped shortly after being equipped.

I can 100% confirm that this is happening with my 100% legitimately earned 15th anniversary cape. (not using third-party launcher)

Edit: Based on MCL-24728, this is happening on Lunar client as well, so it further confirms this may not be a launcher-side issue.

Based on my testing this only occurs on the launcher, the web seems to work fine.

I changed the cape on the launcher, and also changed the cape on the official website. It was not saved after it was turned off.

Does this issue still occurs to anybody?
Can you please re-check on the current version/Beta of the Launcher?
