  • Your java install is broken. It is missing the root certificates and thus it is not able to validate the authenticity of the SSL certificate.

  • Kaspersky Antivirus prevents checking of the certificates. Disable it.

My Java is up to date and everything for Mac OSX 10.6.8, so pretty much you have made it impossible for me to play minecraft from now on? If there is a fix that you know for my Java or something please help...

And Why have we not had this before?

Also: Can you make the in browser version of MC work on mac?

Um, I don't think it's a good idea to encourage people to install Java 6 on their Macs. We should be trying to move people on to Java 7 and 8 and educating people about the poor Minecraft.app setup. You've seen MCL-1049, right?

Ezekiel

Jonathan, what's wrong with Java 6? If you have Java 7 installed, other programs will use it, creating no security issues. And Java 6 has no web plugin.

There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but it's old software that is no longer maintained by anyone. What other piece of software is the average Mac user going to use that also requires Java 6? Mojang has huge influence here, and they're leading millions of Mac users to install deprecated software.

Ezekiel

Yes, which is why they should update their launcher to use Java 7 or 8.

Ante Blašković , I have ESET and tried to do what you said but the field for HTTPS filtering mode is blocked out. The program isn't allowing me to make changes
