Netherack generates on Soulsand Valley and Basalt Delta walls

The generation of netherack appears to be replacing the respective blocks on walls of both biomes

Since the soul sand valley has soul sand and soul soil and the basalt delta has basalt on they're celling's I think it would make sense if the walls also had the appropriate blocks on they're walls.

Relates to MCPE-79608 and MCPE-69159.

Please add vanilla-parity label.

For reference: On Java Edition, the entire biome is made of basalt, blackstone and patches of netherrack. On Bedrock, only the floors and ceilings generate basalt and blackstone, while the rest is made of netherrack.

This may be an issue with soul sand valleys too.

Really, both biomes need a generation overhaul. Right now it has a netherack core, and just basalt/blackstone soul sand/soil whenever it touches air. Ideally the entire thing should be basalt/blackstone and soul sand/soul.

Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been closed as Working as Intended.

The design team have looked into this and have decided that these patches of Netherrack (or similar) may be seen in both Bedrock and the Java Edition of the game in the biomes mentioned.

I've seen this issue is too common, though.

The "Working as intended" Mark doesn't make sense...

Sorry if it seems rude, but if this is "working as intended", why is the java generation different? Either you have the same behaviors on both versions or it's not working as intended. I want both versions of Minecraft to function the same when possible, and so do many other players in the community. Please reconsider this

I don't know since I don't have Java Edition, but soul sand and basalt are generate with 2 blocks layer only. Is it the same in Java Edition? Although this is resolved as Works As Intended, it doesn't make much sense to me. The 2 block layers are really thin, which makes the look no different from the Nether Wastes biome in some spots.

These gen differences aren’t actually differences, its due to the different seeds.
