Since updating to the PSVR update, my minecraft on PS4 is stuck on "MOJANG STUDIOS" loading screen and won't do anything. I don't want to reinstall because I'll lose all my worlds, is this a known issue or just me?
WHAT I DID:
Updated, went into a world and it worked with my VR except I couldn't change perspective while in VR. Then I restarted my PS4 thinking it was just a glitch and now it doesn't work.

The same kind of thing is happening to me, except I just realized something. If you aren't signed in to your Microsoft account, the game won't crash. If you are, it will crash. I noticed this because I saw corrupted data which possibly answers my/the crashes. So I guess you can only play without a Microsoft account until this is fixed.

I was able to get into the game today, my skin got overwritten because I was editing it yesterday when it wouldn't load so I decided to create it again on my phone, once I've finished I've closed down Minecraft of both platforms and ever since then anytime I try to launch the game on PS4, either with or without wearing a VR headset it either gets stuck on Mojang logo screen or just a pure black screen. I've restarted the PS4 couple of times now and still nothing. Cannot afford to reinstall the whole game as it would take days to download it due to my poor internet bandwidth.

Relates to MCPE-84790.

I think the issue is that the VR range (like where you can go in real life) isnt programmed to have a specific limit on the distance your player can go based on how you move in real life. Should be an easy code fix for Mojang to do, so dont worry to much it should be fixed 🙂👍

The problema that I had is the same but I reinstalled minecraft and I can tell that the problem occurs when you try to sing in with your Microsoft account, cause if you didn't try to sign in the game didn't crash it's only happens when you try to sign your Microsoft account, anthis is only starts happening until the yesterday update.

I have the same issue too it seems to gets stuck on the mojang studios screen after the current update. The cause of the issue is that Minecraft bedrock edition for the PS4 can't tell if you have the VR stuff set-up or not & it's trying to determine whether you do or not similar to how a game gets stuck on a cutscene. As to how to fix it we'll have to wait for an update/patch.

i tried signing while disconnected from the internet and i still cant load in. i get stuck on the screen after the mojang screen. the one that says minecraft and has the loading bar

I can confirm that if minecraft loads properly while disconnected from Microsoft it will not crash (other than the usual crashes caused by lag and other minor bugs)

I have tried getting on while disconnected and it won’t get passed the Minecraft loading screen. Maybe I got a different issue except it started after the update so I’d imagine it’s the same problem

my friend had a corrupt file and deleted it now he loads in like nothing was ever wrong.

2.15 update just released didn't fix issue
Update it did fix issue just un-install minecraft then re-install

I just updated to 1.16.6 on my ps4, and like everyone else. I am now stuck at the red Mojang studios screen. Everything i have tried is not working and i really do not want to have to uninstall and than reinstall my game as i have more hours in my worlds than i would like to talk about. Everything was fine up until about 30 minutes ago when i updated to 1.16.6.

You will not lose your worlds when uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I've had to do this many times due to being stuck on "The Red Screen of Death". I just updated to 1.16.60 and it loaded up like normal for me.

really.. even my single player worlds ?? i thought when you unistall the game on ps4, that all the save data ges deleted also...

Go to settings. Storage. System storage. Saved data. Minecraft. Delete the 2 saved data files (the ones with alex next to a widget). Restart minecraft and it will act as if you never loaded it. Boots right up. Just have to remote connect to your microsoft account again. No lost saves but settings will have to be redone if you had any custom controller configs. Just had to remap run to L3 and adjust my FOV slider again.

update...... uninstall and reinstall worked for me. If it happens again i shall let yall know
@Kevin... ty i did not know i could uninstall without losng gaves... thank you

@ brett perry... i just deleted minecraft, and reinstalled the whole thing. it says im on version 1.16.6 now. so far so good. didnt touch my save games at all
We believe this particular issue is fixed in the latest hotfix version 1.16.60. Some users might still be experiencing the related issue at MCPE-84790 - please feel free to add a vote there if that is affecting you.

as I mentioned in another thread, the newest update does not fix the issue on PS Pro—you still have to turn off supersampling if you don't want a crash
Thank you for mentioning the workaround - some players have found that they are able to launch the game by disabling "Supersampling" in the settings:
Go to: Settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings > Supersampling Mode > disable "Enable Supersample Mode"

Not resolved. Its back again for me. Worked last night and this morning. But after exiting the game this morning it stuck on red mojang again. Deleted save data like i did last time to fix it. On ps4 pro with supersampling off. I deleted saved data again. Still red Mojang screen. Deleting and reinstallimg the game will take far too long for me to make it worthwhile. Holding all L and R buttons plus options and touchpad does not work either. I will update if anything changes.

I see a lot of references to turning off supersampling here to fix the problem but when the PS4 is connected to a 4K tv there is no option for supersampling. So I am stuck with a minecraft that won’t start in psvr or 2d format

Still an issue for ps4 pro. Not resolved

Continues to be an issue for me and many others on @mojangsupport Twitter feed. Confirmed that my system has all Minecraft updates. I do not have any VR tech for my PS4.

@Norm banks
Correct. I followed instructions on my tv screen that explained supersampling was not an option on my 4K TV – I set video resolution to 1080p and arrived at the same red screen of death. Frustrating!!!

Minecraft VR completely stopped working again.
When it first launched I managed to get it working (after searching the forums and YouTube videos - which should not be a necessity ⚠️ ). Played a few sessions.
Today, it refuses to launch AGAIN. SS is off, boost mode is off and yet it's not starting.
The game is not playable in VR anymore.
Any fix for this available?

This is STILL NOT FIXED!

still not fixed.
Thanks for the report! This looks to be a widespread issue and the team is currently investigating.
