Same problem here, this seems like a viable fix, but it deletes your worlds right? Would you keep your world if you’re signed into psn or what is the situation?

If you really want to play you need to delete the game and re-install it but you can lose access to PS4 Edition. (May not fix the bug but high chance).

It happens to me when opening the game from the PS4 home screen. I purchased the Editions version of the game from the PlayStation Store a few years ago.

Doesn't seem like it, I have tried restarting my console multiple times (no fix). I guess we will have to wait for a patch to play again.

I just wanted to make sure you all know that we have (earlier) forwarded this report to the developers and I'm confident they're doing the best they can to get it into a hotfix. If you have friends on Reddit, Twitter, etc. who are having this problem, suggest that they come here and upvote this ticket, too. It already has a good number of votes, but more never hurts.

Had the same thing after a crash overnight (which on itself needs a fix... there's been a lot of them). A reinstall helped.

I also have this issue. This started after I upgraded to the Nether Update. I started a few years back with a purchased disc copy of Minecraft for PS4. Upgraded to Bedrock at the Buzzy Bees update. The upgrade to the Nether Update originally loaded fine and played several times. However, this issue began after a hurried shutdown. I had just loaded my game... and had a family emergency to attend to. So without saving my active game, I clicked the PS button and selected to close the app and shut down the PS4. After this, I get stuck at the red Mojang Studios loading screen. Hope this helps Mojang solve the issue soon. I miss my latenight Minecraft. The new Nether bioms are awesome and I look forward to getting back to playing.

I too am having this same issue. All the new stuff looks great and I digitally own the game on my PS4 but the fact that I can't play at all, game keeps crashing as I try to launch it. And even after a few tries it just stays on the loading screen until I force it to go to main menu to close the application. Very fustrating. It was working fine until this update sadly. And even then sometimes I could join my friend on her game for some odd reason. I'm not sure if it's because I have my Microsoft account connect and my friend doesn't have one or visa versa the reason. I'm not sure I'm just sad right now.

1. backed up the worlds we definitely did NOT want to lose. There were 3. We chose to back up to PS+ online. Although it looked like you could do it to USB thumb drive too.

2. deleted Minecraft app from PlayStation

3. reinstalled Minecraft onto PlayStation from disc

4. applied update to latest from internet

Minecraft then worked. 

We didn't lose any saved worlds. Even though we only explicitly backed up 3 worlds to PS+ all 8 original worlds were visible and working after the re-install.

So just a update on my situation. I am able to play as long as I don't connect my Microsoft account to my PlayStation 4 account the update will work. However the fact that I can't have my Microsoft account connected to it is a bit infuriating. I recommend starting there.

Have done the magic button combination, multiple times, but the game still crashes. Again, we have the PS4 Disc edition on bedrock.

I have the same problem, digital version and was working perfectly fine just before this update (it was bedrock edition as I always keep my games up to date) and when I downloaded the update I managed to play on it for the first time though it was super slow with dropping FPS and I closed the game thinking that it just needed a bit of a restart for it to speed up but it’s been stuck on the Monjang studios screen ever since (4 days - 96 hours roughly of not being able to play)

After reading the info from several saying to delete and reinstall (Like Michael Yates in this chain, thank you)... 

Delete and Reinstall worked!!! I took a video of it all, I will need to figure out how to post it. I got the red loading screen glitch, when I closed the Minecraft app, without first saving my game. I had just loaded my game in... and something came up, had to shut down quick, so I just closed the app without saving to shut down quick. I figured, I hadn't done anything yet, so just shut down. Next load... got the never ending red loading screen.

Here is what I did next:

1) I turned off the internet in Settings/Network

2) In Settings (not library, don't know if that matters)/Storage/Applications, I selected Minecraft, hit Options on the control, selected Delete, checked the box for Minecraft, took a deep breath, and deleted my Minecraft with 2 years of my stuff in it.

3) Ejected the Minecraft disk

4) Put Minecraft disk back in and reinstalled the PS4 edition of Minecraft (I was encouraged when I saw my old school PS4 edition games still there!!!)

5) Once PS4 Edition was reinstalled from the disk, I turned the Internet back on (Settings/Network). Was prompted to update to the Nether.

6) I installed the Nether Update. This took 25 minutes to download with my DSL internet (painful long wait)

7) Once it was all updated, I started Minecraft... got the red loading screen... but in less than a minute, advanced to the white Minecraft screen... and there it was. All my stuff was still there!!! Everything was back!!!

I even had a glitch that was not loading a skin pack... and this was now working also. EVERYTHING was there and working. I have a PS+ account and had backed up everything on line... but did not need it. The save files on the PS4 hard drive were all that I needed.

I don't know if this will work for "all red loading screen glitches"... all I can tell you is that it worked for mine... when I glitched for not saving my world before stopping the app. After 3 days of no Minecraft... I am playing again!!!

i started on ps3 with the disc version bought the game digitaly last summer for ps4 and send my files over from the disc to digital version also only play console not the bedock edition

I have PS4 Pro, disk version. It was updated to 1.16 two days before the game crashed during gameplay. I was stuck on the red mojang screen after restarting the game.

I tried deleting the game and reinstalled from disk. All the worlds for all users were intact, including legacy worlds. I do not have PS+ membership.

Same issue here; game crashed in split screen session for two local players, now it won't start.

After the Nether update I played for many hours in several sessions without a problem. This included saving, closing Minecraft and later starting Minecraft again and loading the saved game.

• PS4 is connected to router with ethernet. It maintains a 112.9 Mbps download / 11.3 Mbps upload.

• Minecraft PS4, physical disk.

  • Upgraded to Bedrock edition.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Start Minecraft from the menu.

• Press "Play" at the menu.

• Press "Create new World" when prompted.

• Press "Create" at the Create New World menu.

Expected Result: Load a new Minecraft world.

Actual result: Minecraft crashes, displays text "An error has occurred in the following application" CE-34878-0.

Additional Notes:

We have reproduced this error twice a day since Tuesday June 23.

We attempted to create a new world while logged in to the Microsoft account and also while logged out, but the issue persisted.

We attempted to uninstall Minecraft and reinstall to correct the issue, but the issue persisted.

We cleared the PS4 cache to try and correct the issue, but the issue persisted.

We rebuilt the PS4 database to correct the issue, but but issue persisted.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Start Minecraft from the menu.

• Press "Play" at the menu.

• Press "Create new World" when prompted.

• Press "Create" at the Create New World menu.

Expected Result: Load a new Minecraft world.

Actual result: Minecraft crashes, displays text "An error has occurred in the following application" CE-34878-0.

Additional Notes:

We have reproduced this error twice a day since Tuesday June 23.

We attempted to create a new world while logged in to the Microsoft account and also while logged out, but the issue persisted.

We attempted to uninstall Minecraft and reinstall to correct the issue, but the issue persisted.

We cleared the PS4 cache to try and correct the issue, but the issue persisted.

We rebuilt the PS4 database to correct the issue, but but issue persisted.

Hope the next update coming soon fixes the stuck on Mojang screen issue. It has been almost a week since I was able to last play Minecraft. I would like to jump into the game and be able to explore all the new features within the Nether Update.

Same issue here, I have the digital version on ps4 upgraded from editions, yesterday June 28, 2020 I was able to run Minecraft with no problems at all, no crashes or anything like that. Today June 29, 2020 when i openned Minecraft i got stucked on the Mojang Studios screen, I didnt paid much attention to it since before 1.16 sometimes the game took around 10 miinutes to pass the white Minecraft loading screen, buy this time it spent 30 minutes like that with no response.

Just updated to Version 2.08.....still having the same issue....stuck at RED MOJANG SCREEN.  We are using the Digital Version from the PS Store...Bedrock Edition. Two days after the 2.07 Nether Update, we were hung on the RED MOJANG SCREEN and are unable to play the game.  The Minor Bugs and Crash fixes of 2.08 do not appear to fix the issue.  I am going to try the work around that Michael noted above....will update with the results once complete.

The game is still crashing while trying to open a world ): I have digital for the PS4 , and it started doing this after the Nether update ): 2.08 didn't resolve my issue as well.

This seems like a very important issue that should have been fixed with the latest patch. It is getting extremely frustrating especially since it's a game breaking bug.

Work Around Update (PS4): 

1. Was stuck on the Mojang RED SCREEN.

PS4 keeps game saves separate from the actual game. Meaning that if you uninstall any game its data will still be there. Same goes for Minecraft.

So no need to do any backups, throw spells, or whatever. Just reinstall the game and it will work like a charm.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling my bedrock digital and can play now but every time I connect my Microsoft account it continuously keeps crashing and giving me a blue screen message. Not sure what to do anymore.

I uninstalled and reinstalled my disk version and now it's working.

I don't know if it's a clue, but at reboot I had a lot of problems with the installed texture packs. I finally deleted all the packs.

Here I couldn't wait any longer, because this bug has not been resolved for over a week and my son can't wait any longer. So, I risked deleting the game and installing again and it worked. The strange thing is that the 2.08 update continues to appear, but it is working. From Brazil

For those to have the disc version, I can tell you that I erase the game  in the options menu of the disc and take the risk...

(I say goodbye to all my worlds saved before)

I take out the disc and then put it again, after this the system ask me latest version... Download again... And it works with all my worlds intact...

My son is having the same problem with the ps store version.

Uninstalling/reinstalling the game fixed the problem for a day and we are now back to the Mojang red screen.

You should able to delete the game and redownload it from the PlayStation Store, or you can just wait until a fix for the issue is available.

@James M. - Just delete the game and then you can reinstall from your Library on the PS4. Just select from the Library and it will re-download. If it does not show up in your Library after you deleted it, it will be in your 'Purchased' folder in the PS Library. You don't need to repurchase from the PS Store.  I fixed mine via deleting and reinstalling and it now works again....so far.

I didn't lose my save games, i saw that the ps4 keeps the saved games different from the actual game, so it won't delete your worlds or your progress.

Yesterday evening the ps4 feeze in the Mojang screen was suddenly gone and the game functioned normally. I changed nothing. I will continue to monitor and report if the bug reappears.

I never get stuck on the red Mojang screen, but once the screen changes to the image of the new Nether, with the slowly rotating camera and the Minecraft music, the menu never appears, meaning I can never actually PLAY. It just sits there, slowly panning the camera across the Nether, music softly playing in the background, forever and ever...

I have had the red screen and blue error. Deleting and downloading gets the red screen away but the blue error won’t let you into any worlds. I use a disc but I know it’s not an issue with my disc or ps4 because I uploaded data to online storage and dowloaded on a different device. I still got the error. So it’s definatelys to do with some Microsoft / minecraft. I have minecraft on other PS4 profiles on both devices and these work fine. Obviously the solution would be to try unlinking accounts and creating new ones but everyone would loose purchases. And I’m not sure if you would still ge this glitch. I think it happened after opening return to the nether? Please at least reply. It’s very frustrating to not get any support or answers.

So far i have it only last about 4 days at the longest with out it going back to getting stuck.  Once again as per my previous comment i am using the disk version of Minecraft updated to the lastest version of Minecraft. uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft also seems to make the save file unstable. After applying today’s update, I am now experiencing this issue. I did not have a problem previously. Holding the buttons until my fingers went numb did not resolve. Rebooting did not resolve.

If it doesn't work the first time, I suggest closing the application and trying a couple more times. I had to do it six times before it finally worked.

The button combination worked, but the game keeps crashing A LOT.  All the progress I made converting zombie villagers, and the ones that were born after that, desapeared after every crash.  I lost items too.

ok I had the mojang splash screen stuck again.

If it helps... I'm using the digital version and I did update from editions. Also I typically can get through the Mojang red screen but game crashes at varied times.

After the update this am, I got through Mojang screen then updated packs. It locked up on the scrolling bar that goes back and forth. Had to get completely out then start over. It did work after that

I have had to reinstall the game twice due to this bug at 2.10 it broke the first time then don't know after that it also sometimes breaks when my playtime runs out while the game is running or I play a different game then go on minecraft

I am running 2.10, from disc.  In fact, I tried to open Minecraft as soon as the update had finished and it wouldn't load past the grey screen with bars halfway loaded.

Hey Jay, I can confirm I am on 2.10, have the hard copy not digital. The button code got me though the Mojang studios screen after a few try’s but then I got stuck on the new nether loading screen and couldn’t go any farther.

I was JUST playing it last night all day yesterday. Today I go to start it up and the Orange Title screen just shows and nothing more.
Tried the button combo and still didn't work.
I can't delete and reinstall, My internet is terrible!

I was automatically linked to this ticket after I posted my own issue. I bought the digital version a little under a month ago as an upgrade from the demo version. I have tried reinstalling it twice. My game will randomly freeze while playing splitscreen an I will be forced to close the application. Sometimes minecraft will not start up at all. I tried reloading it several times and eventually even deleting and reinstalling it. Then I went on vacation for a week and when I came back it worked fine. Really strange...

Waited for the fix for months. But now finally got fed up with waiting for a solution and reinstalled the game. Savegames were preserved without resorting to restoring them from cloud/usb.

Had this issue pop up a few times since the button combo update.  The button combo worked a couple times but now no longer works. I can only hold those buttons for so long.

Back to uninstalling\reinstalling I guess.

Pretty serious bug. 

Latest edition button combinations no longer work to reset either. I am forced to continually re-install every few days so my son can play this.

This is disk based install, which then is updated fully to latest update release.

Bug still is a major issue. Holding the button combo L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 + OPTIONS + Touch Pad for a minute did not clear the screen. still having to uninstall and reinstall to fix the issue. this is still causing save files to be corrupt on repeat re-installs unless you have a access to a cloud backup.

We are having this problem today. An update 2.11 auto-installed yesterday and we have been stuck on the red Mojang Studios screen ever since. This is a disk version of the game.

issue still not resolved after update. Though its been almost a month without incident, unfortunately its come back today. And this time I've tried  L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 + OPTIONS + Touch Pad combo many times to no avail. It worked last time, not sure why this combo is not working this time.

I think I may have found a way to at least prevent if not fix the issue. For anyone who has reinstalled and has it working right now do not instantly close after you save the world or while you are in the world. Once you save your world that you were playing on go to the main screen(the page with the microsoft store,Editions,settings and profile) from there only close the application or switch to a different application. I think it might be because of the way the game saves and closes. So far this has worked for me. Check and see if it works for you guys as well.

Since the last update this issue has gotten worse . Uninstalling and reinstalling is the only way to get around the red screen. but repeated reinstalling is causing Corruption to the save files . the button combo listed by Devs no longer works .

Deleting the saved data in the ps4 storage area has worked.. and holding down the buttons on the controller just worked.

Get this fixed as soon as possible.

I am also having the stuck on "Mojang Studios" splash screen issue. I have the digital PS4 Bedrock version I tried the buttons to no avail am now reinstalling.  My version was showing as up to date when i checked it prior is uninstalling.

Having same issues just bought the game.  Every time I shut the game down to play another game then try to load back into minecraft it crashes.  I have to uninstall and reinstall everytime I play the game I am ticked off.  I give this game no stars.  Fix it or give me my money back.

The second time round the key-combo didn't work so I had to reinstall the game.

While doing the reinstall I saw a comment from @unknown (19 Aug 2020) stating that he went back to the top menu before quitting the game.
As anxious as we all are for the "Red screen of death" I now, not only navigate back to the top menu, but I also allow the game ample time before I actually quit.
Again, it's probably not related, and I'm asking the game gods to strike me down saying this, but I haven't had the issue since.

Something I have tried that seems to be working most of the time. 
When you open minecraft and get stuck on the red screen. 

1 try button combo (knowing that it wont work)

2 push the playstation button on the controller and close the application

3 reopen minecraft and press the button combo right away.

This has worked for me recently and it works about 80% of the time .

Can we get some sort of update regarding when a potential permanent fix will be released? It has been three months since this report was filed, but a similar bug was first reported only three days after Bedrock came to PS4, meaning that these sort of problems have been occurring for about nine months. While there have been a few hotfixes since June, none of the fixes have been permanent, apparently.

Haven't played much recently due to this bug, but once I received the update this morning I launched the game and got stuck on the loading screen once again. I tried the button combination and it didn't work. However, closing the application and trying the button combination again (as suggested by a previous comment by Bryan Forseth) did work. Seems like this problem is still persisting regardless of the new update.

I have a PS Pro—when I tried loading Minecraft in VR, it froze as above, so I tried turning supersampling off, as I have other VR games such as Race The Sun that also refuse to load with supersampling on. Doing this worked for me—did not reinstall or even restart the PS4, I don't think. Just tried it with the newest patch and same results—fine if supersampling off, blue screen crash if on.

Thank you so much Bryan Forseth for sharing! Finally Minecraft is able to load, I have a couple very happy people in my house now. On the second load it took a few moments but it did finally load. It's still crazy laggy but at least it works. This update needs some serious TLC right away!! I thought getting bedrock would be an improvement in gameplay, not a downgrade in quality

As a temporary workaround, some players have found that they are able to launch the game by disabling "Supersampling" in the settings:

Mine is disc on ps4. Its all current on updates, up to 2.15. It wasnt until 2.14 update that the game would freeze during start up on red mojang screen. Not using VR, tried disabling internet connection. Jsut doesn't work sinve 2.14 update. 2.15 update didnt fix

Updated to 2.15 yesterday. No change. Still gets stuck on red Mojang screen. Holding button combination suggested in thread does not work. I have to delete and redownload every time. Likely to not bother doing that for much longer.

I have a disc copy, upgraded from editions on PS4. Not too concerned with my worlds since I run them from Bedrock Dedicated Server on my PC to save space on my PS4. After looking through some of the replies in this thread, I decided to open the Minecraft app and simply wait to see if it would load at all, even after a long time. I left the console alone to do other things, but seven hours later, the game had still not moved past the red logo screen. At this point, I have essentially spent $20 on an image file.

I have found out that if I want to play Minecraft on PS4 I can't play any other games because I will have to delete Minecraft and reinstall it to play Minecraft but once I have Minecraft working if all I do is play Minecraft then I have no problem but as soon as I load anything else I have to delete and reinstall Minecraft to play it.

I have had this problem several times on the disc and digital versions of the game and I have only deleted the game one because most of the time I can get it working after several times (maybe 5 to 10 times) of trying the button combo for about 5 minutes closing the game and trying again. I experience this problem after using another game or app and then when I try to play Minecraft it freezes on the red screen and I have to go through the process of button combo close game button combo close game several times before it works. I have experienced freezing on the white load screen a few times and I did the same thing to get it working. I hope this helps people who are struggling with this problem play and the devs fix it.

My son got this issue today. We have been away for a week, and when we got home the PS4 initiated a update, and after that we have not been able to start the game. Freezes on red Mojang logo screen. Button combination not working. My son does not want to lose his worlds and will rather not play till the issue is fixed. I fully expect some free content as a compensation for not being able to play the game. 

We have the BR-disk version with all the latest updates, on a standard PS4 1TB.

Please give this priority or we will move on to another game, and send a complaint to Norwegian consumer authorities.

I had this issue just today and managed to get over it. I have two accounts on my PS4 and the second one is only local account, which is used for second controller. When I had both controllers on, the issue appeared. When I logged out the second account and had second controller turned out, I managed to get over the issue. I turned the second controller on only after world was loaded and now kids can play happily.

So issue could be related to accounts which are not connected to PSN.

The red screen isn't the only time waster, the black screen (aka, whenever i launch the game, its usually stuck on a black screen for like 2 minutes), The black screen also takes a very long time, about 5-20 minutes of waiting for the mojang logo to appear, then 10-30 more minutes for the game to actually launch, and that 10-40 minutes of waiting is basically for nothing as i literally crashed trying to get into my friends' world, now i have to wait 10-40 AGAIN for another fully launched game.

also, this is a pretty common bug if your logging onto a world that isn't yours, for example a realm of your friend, a world of your friend, or a server.

@unknown  - this thread only focuses on the permanently stuck Mojang Red splash screen when starting up Minecraft on the PS4 - it prevents complete access to the game. The issue you have mentioned is not related and you should create a new issue for that (I think some already exist for that)

Ok, I know what is causing this to happen, what is actually happening is the game is freezing at the Mojang Studios screen, we can’t tell it’s freezing because the loading bar doesn’t appear at the beginning of the bar, it appears 1/4 of the way done. Why is the game freezing you may ask, while the game is booting up, it signs you into your Microsoft account and the resources fail to load causing the game to freeze.

I know this is the case because I encountered this issue before on my iPad. The loading bar gets 3/4 of the way done and the game freezes on me because the game is trying to sign into my Microsoft account, but it failed to load my resources. MY WORKAROUND:turn off your WiFi while the game is loading and then the game boots up. Then sign out then turn on your WiFi & finally sign in to your Microsoft account and that fixed it. If you encounter this issue on your PlayStation 4 then do these steps in order: Press and hold L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 + Options + Touch Pad, and HOLD IT until the Mojang Studios logo disappears.

Couple issues with that: 

1. Many of us do not have a microsoft account or have never attempted to even connect one, so it couldn't be failing to load from something it can't connect to in the first place; and

2. The button combo works maybe one time in twenty, at best. Keeping all of those held down for ten minutes with no change is a good indicator that it isn't working. 

So far the only reliable thing I've been able to do to "fix" the issue is delete and reinstall every time it gets stuck, which is about once a week. This is with a physical copy, though a friend with digital only has to do the same thing.

Is the game freezing even if you don’t have a Microsoft account? Does people that don’t have content bought through the Minecraft Store games still freeze? Please tell me. Also “Resources” is Content bought from the Minecraft Store. EX: Texture packs, mash up packs, etc. Possibly why the combo isn’t working is maybe because you did it too slow and when you finish the combo the game is already frozen?

Do you have any worlds on there? If so then the game also try’s to load all your worlds while booting up the game. All your worlds counts as “resources” as well.

After 4 months of this bug's existence, it's still contaminating us. After pressing the evil uninstall button and then reinstalling, it still manages to hurt us. All fellow gamers, we most unite to end the mojang infinite loading screen and put a stop to this pain! Except that only mojang can stop this and they will haven't resolved this issue even after 9 bug fix updates.

The original issue was fixed for us but since the lastest VR update it now hangs at the Mojang screen. We don't have VR. It's been 2 weeks and nothing. Only affects my PS4.

Hello ! My Minecraft doesn't want to launch too. It is stuck on the red MOJANG STUDIOS screen. I tried the button combination many times and it didn't work since I did the new update 2.16 VR. I have Minecraft Playstation 4 edition on the disc/DVD. I did the very last update of Minecraft and of my PS4. People say to delete and reinstall the game but I have to save my Minecraft worlds for that ! However, to save my Minecraft worlds, I need the PS+ subscription that I don't have because I have to buy it ! By the way, I don't know if I have Minecraft Bedrock edition :/.

Hello ! My Minecraft doesn't want to launch too. It is stuck on the red MOJANG STUDIOS screen. I tried the button combination many times and it didn't work since I did the new update 2.16 VR. I have Minecraft Playstation 4 edition on the disc/DVD. I did the very last update of Minecraft and of my PS4. People say to delete and reinstall the game but I have to save my Minecraft worlds for that ! However, to save my Minecraft worlds, I need the PS+ subscription that I don't have because I have to buy it ! By the way, I don't know if I have Minecraft Bedrock edition :/.

How has this not been fixed yet? I'm not gonna risk corrupting save files by uninstalling the game and the button combo didn't work. If there's no game, I'd want my money back.

• Same issue here, has been happening since 2/10/2020 (loaded fine the day before). We have the digital version 2.16 that upgraded to Bedrock from original version. Button combo does not work, we can’t get off the red Mojang screen.

This has been happening for awhile it seems. The 2.16 update has made loading times unbearable. Waiting 20 to 30 minutes just for the game to load is completely unacceptable. I know coding is difficult, but at this point the game is pretty much unplayable for me and a lot of others. I don't really want to uninstall and reinstall my game due to the risk of losing all the worlds my son has worked hard on. Maybe we should roll back to the last version that actually worked??

I delete mine and I only gat this bug 1 time when there is a big change to the game and I do forget to save a world but I notes when I did the deleting game with a world there it stays there when I reinstall it so ps4 save worlds seems defiant but my win 10 save dues get deleted so don't remember if my phone same as my ps4 or win 10 meatier for those have no ps+ if you have a usb stik you can save on one if have a pc spare HDD not using there is a kit that have hock up to HDD to usb and it become a external HDD to your ps4 back up. Note since the badrock came out my old saved worlds became cropped and won't work with badrock. So I try with out the saved worlds and it works. If you're world is made resistant then you shouldn't have any problems reinstalling the game and geting past the red cream. I don't know if makes any difference for login to Microsoft account since I login automatic. Hope this helps anyone else too.

Whenever the button combination thing doesn't work, make sure to close Minecraft and reopen it and then do the combination again. This worked for me personally.

Again, it happened today. It's still not fixed. It's so frustrating to people who just want to play Minecraft, the game that THEY paid for. So far, the only way is to delete the game, and reinstall it, which repeated reinstalling may cause save file corruption. This is so stupid. Please fix this. People can't play the game that they paid for.

So basically when the PSVR launched to be compatible with Minecraft bedrock edition. I obviously went to play on VR. The first time I played it worked but the second time I got the red screen. Judging by this I think the red screen has to do with the PSVR compatibility. It still doesn’t work for me.

Day they announce the combination button's fixed relest I been having this bug and only works after I reinstalled the game then when I got a new update patch it comes back and I have to repet the combination button's. But between the patches it's don't come back untal next patch.

We are experiencing this issue, as well.

When is the plan to actually have a fix for this? If the earliest reports of this issue are from Dec 2019, it is a bit ludicrous to still have it occurring.

After several weeks of experiencing this issue I tried the posted workaround again today and it worked. Was able to play the game on PS4 today.

Mine doesn't proceed beyond the red Mojang screen.  It's the digital Bedrock Edition version.  It was updated 26SEP20 (PS4 shows v2.16)  I'm going to assume it's the 1.16.61 hotfix released on 25SEP20.

(GoldenHelmet) I can confirm that, after updating to the latest Playstation software, my game is no longer freezing on the red logo screen. It did hang on the white screen (MCPE-58897) for a few minutes, but eventually the main menu loaded. I am slightly glad that the freeze has momentarily gone, though I am uncertain whether or not the bug will reappear, or if anyone is experiencing it post-PS update. I, personally, would have fewer reservations about this whole situation if the bug was fixed officially by Mojang, as opposed to a platform software update. I will update if the bug reappears.

Update: The bug returned.

When launching Minecraft directly into VR mode (ie. while wearing the headset before selecting the game from the OS dashboard) do the VR headset lights turn on or the calibration screen appear before the game freezes on a black screen?

I think I discovered another way to avoid this. It seems like minecraft launches faster and bypasses this glitch whenever you don't have an internet connection. So i usually disconnect from the internet before I launch the game. But that means you won't have access to the marketplace even of you reconnect. If you want to go shopping, then you must launch the game with an internet connection. But i'm not sure if this is fullproof though.

I'm currently stuck in the red screen I will try to disconnect internet and restart Minecraft to see if it will help.

UPDATE: Internet off, relaunched Minecraft, still stuck in red screen. Also rebooted PS4. I would have to conclude the issue is not related to the internet. (At least when it starts to happen.)

The L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Option + Touch Pad button combo works but you need to be pressing it down immediately after you launch Minecraft. If you get to the red screen its too late.

Tried again this hotke(s) combination. This time it worked for us. There are some things to obey:

• Pressing must be done before the red splashscreen appears.

• You have to be very fast.

• I did this drill to achive success:

     o end Minecraft app (kill app in pop-up menu) German text is "Anwendung schliessen" (Step 1)

     o prepare fingers for key combination

     o start Minecraft

     o immediately after that use the keycombi

• if the red splash screen lets you wait for mor than ~30 seconds, you were too slow

• try again with (Step 1)

For us, this really solved all the issues we had since 3 months with the game. A one-time keycombi was sufficient. From then on the app startet normally, also without keycombi.

One more question for the development team: Why is this difficult keypress needed anyway cause I guess you know the issue if you tell us to use this "trick".
