My PS4, After Bedrock update, won't launch, it's stuck on the loading screen

Yeah I have once time the same issue but it wasn't infiny, it's take 1 hour ! But there are definitely a problem with that.

I too have developed this issue on my PS4. I don’t know if this is related at all but 3 days ago the profile skin I had created wouldn’t load and when I went in to create it again no of the various items to chose from wouldn’t load either. I tried it again yesterday and it was the same. Today I couldn’t get past the Mojang screen. I closed the application and tried again, this time I let it go until it eventually crashed after 20 mins or more. I have tried this three times and it crashes each time.

Im having the same issue I have closed app multiple times and even tried restarting the system a time or two. I have not been able to get on at all for at least a week and a half It's very upsetting.

DELETE MINECRAFT, THEN RE-INSTALL. This will solve this issue. 
Do not worry, all of your saved data will be saved. Just delete the app, then re-install. 

I made an account just to help everyone here. I was having this issue and found the fix on reddit, so i figured i'd share the solution with my fellow crafters. 
@Edward, you should be able to play now man. I hope so, anyway. Not being able to craft for a week is horrible. I hope this works for you. 

Tried that. Delete/reinstall did nothing for us. The only way we have been able to get past the Mojang screen is if we receive and invite to join someone else's game via the PS4 messenger system, but even that only partly loaded the game before it stuck again at a later screen.

Edit: With the latest update yesterday (Feb11), we can now load and play, but it takes about 5 minutes for each screen (Mojang, Minecraft, worldload, etc)

Mojang ! We need a fix ! What are you doing ! (Happened again ! I wait 1 hour !)

Same thing is happening to me, the screen wont load, when it does load my game forgets all of the resource packs so I have to reinstall them every game I play. I hope I dont lose my worlds.

This issue came along right after the last menu screen freeze glitch for me. I''m really sad that neither my friends or me have gotten to play in over a month, please fix!!! 😞

I have been playing bedrock fine for ages and all of a sudden this has happened. I have tried everything but it continues to be stuck on the loading screen. I hope this can be sorted soon!

today I faced a similar issue, started Minecraft and its stuck on Loading screen like on 40%, nothing helped restarting shutting down disconnect/re-connect internet.

Thanks for your patience while we try and get this resolved. For those still affected, could you please let us know as much information as possible, such as:

1. When did the issue start occurring?

2. Do you have the digital or disc version of the game?

3. Have you tried a fresh installation of the game?

4. At which point does the game get stuck?

5. Can you add a screenshot or short video of the point at which the game is getting stuck?

Try deleting and reinstalling minecraft, it worked for me and now its letting me play again.

Having the same issue, won't go past the white loading screen with Minecraft and the bar beneath. Have digital, deleted and downloaded twice now, restored licences twice now, still nothing.

September 25th, 2020 update:
This is still an issue even with the new updates and still the exact same issue as below. Six months and no fix and I can’t play a game I paid for. Version 2.16 now. I have no issues at all with any other game. I don’t know how this game I paid for running on a regular stock PS4, downloaded from PSN, with the current version can’t work. It isn’t like this is a computer that could have numerous different hardware in it. My PS4 is the same as others and so is my Minecraft but yet mine won’t work.

Hi Mojang.  I have a similar issue but I can get further in than most of these people are before it locks up.  I get past the Mojang loading screen.  I can get to the “welcome to the new Minecraft” screen and can click continue. I can get to the “we’ve imported your skin and settings for you” screen and it does load my character I was using in the non-Bedrock version and I can click next to get past this screen.  On the “select a world to convert” screen it does show my last few saves.  If I click Skip for Now and then Skip again it does go to the “Microsoft Account” screen and this is where it freezes. The music stops, the background stops slowing panning and I can’t click on anything at all.  The only way to get out is to click ps4 button and then close application.  The same type of hard lock up will also happen if I try to convert one of my old worlds as it will say converting but will never go past 0% and I can’t get out unless I press the PS button. 

I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling numerous times. I am on 2.05. I have a regular non-pro PS4. I am online.  I’ve tried to restore licenses.  I’m logged in under my normal, and only, PS4 log in.  I have the digital version. This is the first time I’ve tried to play Minecraft since the bedrock update if that helps. I can’t think of anything else to tell you. Please help!

I have the same issue, but mine stuck in Mojang loading screen, before the bars, I play on ps4 and my game is disc format, I didn't try to reinstall but I I'll test it.

Edit* it happens after 2.67 update in ps4, before i fix it uninstalling and reinstalling again.

3. No. My kids actually dislike most of the updates and don't want to lose their old worlds.  They would be perfectly happy to go back to the original PS4 version, or even a few updates after that. So if we can at all avoid losing their older worlds, that would be great. I told them it might be necessary, but they didn't want me to try it before checking to see if there was another way.

5. I can't add a screenshot, I'm on my phone. But it's the"MINECRAFT" loading screen, white background, with what almost looks like frequency sound bars. We haven't been able to get past that screen since at least December. With the social distancing and the kids not being able to leave the house, I could really use the quiet time

How will we know when/if the problem is being fixed? Or even that our comments have been read by someone there and that the problem is being worked on? Kind of stinks that we paid the money for the game and my kids can't play it.

1. April 25th.  We were playing the "Bees" educational map in Creative mode and entered a nether portal.  It hung on the nether "generating terrain" screen so we restarted minecraft.  And now it hangs on the minecraft loading screen, just after the Mojang splash screen.

I can't confirm that it works, I don't own a PS4, but has anyone tried uninstalling Minecraft, restarting the PS4, and the reinstalling Minecraft? I've heard other game developers suggest this as a troubleshooting method for their games when they have loading problems.

Delete & reinstall worked initially, but the problem started happening again after a few days of playing

Since 1.14.60 I get a Timed out, unable to connect to world on a panel with a brown texture background.

I get this with my Chuwi Hi 10 Android version, my Win 10 version and on my Ipad version. So 3 platforms get the same result.. Timed out, unable to connect to world.

This is after I am able to choose my friend via Xbox and try to connect to him but just as I arrive, I alwasy get this error.

It was not this way before .14.60. Sorry.

I have installed them all again but still the same.

My versions are Bedrock on those tablets above, but not with PS4.  Is this still the correct place to report my problem, or should I open another ticket?

This issue is from [MCPE-62421|MCPE-92421] this issue gets executed on bedrock

i was doubtful about the  uninstall method on ps4

but that did the trick for me and (cross fingers) no more issues since then

This is ridiculous. Ever since the big update to the game however many months ago, it's basically down. It is completely broken. Many others also seem to be experiencing this but yet...still broken. The uninstall/reinstall mentioned fixed mine for a day or two, now back to infinite load times and occasionally freezing

I recommend try this first before you uninstall the game.

Before you start the world and or close the game when you are finish playing.

Go into the world option and wait 5 seconds or so on. It basically clearing up the cache history by itself automatically. Your loading screen should be better next time. (Notice the difference between cached and cleared cache file size)

I do this after I exited the world. Because I will have chance experiencing stuck loading screen sometimes. If you are going to make a copy of world, clear cache first by wait for a few seconds when you get in world option.

Clear cache of every world. You will notice that you will be dropped from the sky in creative world. That's normal because it erased cache that remembers player's position as well as temporary data that loads up the world faster when you rejoin.

There seems to be conflicted when the system was retrieving information from the cache and saved data. IDK

Still happens after 1.16 update

I go to click to open minecraft after the latest update and the only thing it does is load the Mojang screen. Nothing else.

Same issue here. 

Reinstall helps for two consequent Minecraft starts. Then it hangs again. Could you please let me know, if any more data could be collected?

I am running latest update of Minecraft on PS4 PRO, also updated to latest version as of 25. June 2020. Very frustrating, kid is crying 🙂

I went ahead and decided to uninstall the game this morning, restart the playstation, then I re-installed minecraft and I cannot believe it. It actually worked. So I would suggest this and good luck. 

We are tracking the issue with the game getting stuck on the new logo loading screen at MCPE-84790 - please add a vote there if that is the issue you are facing.

This happens to me quite a lot, but i think i found a way.
If minecraft gets stuck on the loading screen for a while, hold the ps button on the controller, go to power, rest mode, once in rest mode wait for a bit (any time would do), turn it back on and wait a bit; you should be good. I'm not sure if it works for others but i hope with this info it would help you to not reinstall it!

Just started to happening to me as well. Played perfectly fine this morning, now can’t access the game. Just stuck in the red Mojang loading screen no matter what I do. Insanely frustrating given the amount of time I’ve put into my world.

Background info;

• The console is a brand new PS4 that I received about a week ago.

• Minecraft is the only game on it. It was downloaded, installed, and immediately updated to 1.16. 

• There is only one save file. It is 120mb in size.

• The game has crashed twice before this, but neither of them prevented the game from loading past startup.

• There was no crash immediately preceding the occurrence of this bug.

My issue is generally the same as Daniel's.

It happened to me last night after I was playing on my friend's world, my game crashed and since then it has not launched past the red Mojang loading screen.

My PS4 was purchased a year after it was released, pretty old now. 

Multiple games on PS4.

Four world saves, totaling around 240mb.

My game has crashed twice before, days apart from the most recent crash, never preventing a relaunch.

After the third crash, my game no longer launches past the red mojang screen.

Exact same problem here.

There was an update the day before, saying it should fix this kind of problem (that never occured to me before).

And then, it happened to me last night. I was playing, and everything was fine. I came back in the evening and when I tried to start the game, it froze first on the white ''Minecraft'' screen, then I restarded after a moment, and since then it has not launched past the red Mojang loading screen.

Help would me appreciated here, because I spent too many hours on my world, and I would not lose all I did!

yea happened to me like a month ago. I tried restarting and it worked a few times. when it stopped working in that way I thought I could let it load, well it loaded after 4 hours and hasn't worked scence plz fix as i make a lot of content

Can confirm that this can still happen as of 8/3/20. I am astounded that resolving this has not become a major focus for the developers, as it makes the game literally unplayable.

Think I saw the game got an update recently, but I hadn't been on ps4 in a little while so not sure how recent it is. Doesn't matter, game still stuck on loading screen and nothing more then a paperweight

This is happening to me and i have do DELETE and REDOWNLOAD the ENTIRE game to play for a day or two

This problem started to happen a few months ago.

Every time Minecraft gets updated on my PS4, it gets stuck on the main startup screen, waiting there forever.

The problem usually fixes itself in a few days, but it completely prevents me to play the game. Neither restart of the app nor restart of the PS4 helps.

Still an issue for me as of today 9/24/20.  Updated to version 2.15 on my PS4 this afternoon and it still takes 15-20 minutes to load past the white minecraft screen.  Game will also freeze about 50% if the time if it loads past the white screen.  The game loaded correctly one time after installing the previous version 2.14 then hung on subsequent attempts to start the game. 

If you delete the game and reinstall it when it is stuck it fixes itself.  About, 1 in 10 times I load the game I get stuck on the loading screen. (Stuck on red Mojang screen)

Thank you for your patience and the helpful information and comments received so far - we have released several bug fixes recently to address crashes similar to this one, and are still investigating the issue as some players are still getting stuck on the loading screen.

If you are able to attach additional screenshots of the point at which the game is getting stuck on the loading bars that would help us identify what is being loaded at that point.

Just logged into another account using the switch user feature on the PS4. Once logged into another account log out of that account and it should switch you back to the original account you logged onto first when turning the PlayStation on. Now open minecraft and you shouldn’t be stuck on the glitched screen.

Mojang does need to fix this as people shouldn’t need to uninstall and then reinstall a game just to play it

I'm a little worried by the fact that there was not a single hotfix trying to fix the problem since one week, but i was able to launch the game one time since the vr update before the problem appeared. It was already happening rarely since a few updates, but here we have 100% chance to have this

I got past the white loading screen but now it either freezes 2 secounds in or I can select play for it to only show a side scrolling loading bar for seemingly forever.

I got to actually get past to world creation twice but now it just says updating 1 of 1 packs....forever

I see we are again asking end users to test. Get a ps4 and do it yourself. I expect you to delete my comment like usual, but i see no updates since beginning of the month...and like I expected, still broken just like it has been ALL YEAR. It is stuck on the red mojang screen when starting game

Try the solution for the issue in MCPE-84790 Perhaps it will work even if it is a different issue.

Mojang yes i am still having this problem it was not doing this until you guys dropped a patch a few months ago to fix it. Me and my brother were building and all of a sudden it started glitching and freezing up. Then it did the blue error screen and ever since then the game gets stuck on the red screen. 😞 

I'm also still having the infinite loading screen problem and I'm beginning to get angry about it because at this point it seems I've wasted my time and money here...++

The only thing I have found while dealing with this issue is to reinstall minecraft. I have had to uninstall and reinstall four times I think because of this bug.

The patch fixed it for a while on PS4 pro, and we are getting past the red screen, but it’s taking about 10 minutes on the load screens. 

PlayStation users, is this still an issue?

Also, I compared the progress of MCPE-45185, MCPE-117731, MCPE-117751, MCPE-119252, and this bug, and the progress bars between all five all appear to be stuck at different levels. There could be different bugs causing the progress bar to not go further, or there could be underlying issues to explain a combination (or all) of the level the progress bar is being stuck at.

To answer @Skaijie's question,

We've been "living" with the 7-8 minutes pause on the white loading screen since the workaround of the red mojang screen hang.
It's not ideal, but at least the game runs normally after the aforementioned wait period.

We're on a normal PS4, we have the disk version and we're up-to-date (1.16.221)

So yes, it's still an issue.

I used to have this issue regularly, but not had it for months now. I found that if you don't close Minecraft properly, it can cause the hang at next loading. 

To clarify, save and exit your current game. Then hold PS button and Close Application. Finally shut down the Playstation. Do not shut the Playstation down without closing Minecraft first.
