Just bought advanced dragons 2 for minecraft switch versions. It does not work at all. Any attempt to load crashes minecraft and says "the software was closed because an error occurred."
I've restarted multiple times, but nothing works. Is this mod just broken?

Similar problem, switch 1.16.40. Generates the world to the extent that it appears on the worlds list on the "play" screen after a restart, but every attempt to load it results in "the software was closed because an error occured". World size is 64.3MB, I was worried that it might be a space issue as I know there is a limit on the switch but have cleared over 100MB of worlds and still won't load.
Same behaviour on Switch 1.16.40 as well with a crash on generating, or loading a world that generated but crashed in the process - and the generated worlds are also 64.3MB. Space isn't an issue - we have 14GB free storage.
Just downloaded this on switch 1.16.40 and same error ' the software closed because there was an error'.
Same here, crashes when creating the world. Emailed for refund but no reply from Nintendo surprise surprise! Version 1.16.40
Same issue here, been trying to generate a world using advanced dragons 2 for 2 weeks now but game crashes everytime the world is about to be generated. Game version is 1.16.40.
I have no issues with it on Android and Windows 10 Versions.
We're trying to investigate why this issue is affecting certain users on Switch - for those affected, could you please mention whether you are able to load the world with the pack activated if you lower your render distance on your device? This can be adjusted by going to Minecraft>Settings>Video>Render Distance.
Also, have you tried removing the pack and re-downloading the content from the marketplace? You can do so by going to Minecraft>Settings>Storage and then selecting the content you wish to remove from your device. You can then redownload your purchased content from the Marketplace.
If the issue still persists, could you please send the following information to Minecraft Customer Support:
Gamertag: [your gamertag]
Screenshot of your profile settings screen: [go to Minecraft>Settings>Profile - scroll to the bottom and take a photo/screenshot of the information there]
Bug ID: MCPE-102919
(Please don't share that information here)
Set render distance to minimum, deleted all advanced dragons 2 content, also deleted all advanced dragons 1 content, then redownload ad2 pack again and created a world successfully.
reducing the render distance fixed the issue. After deleting and redownloading the mod, it creates a world and it is usable.
Awaiting Response
Nintendo Switch does NOT have betas, PLEASE select the EXACT version ** you were playing in (1.16.40).
