A world cannot be opened or created

The worlds do not appear even though they are in the "minecraftWorlds" folder and when creating a new world it appears "There was an error loading this world"

[media]

And then the world appears in the list of worlds and says that it weighs 131051, 8 GB.

And when trying to open the world, another message appears saying "There was a problem loading this world"

[media]

And then the world just disappears

I want to highlight that the servers do work correctly.

This same issue is also happening on my son's Fire. Brand new Fire and new install of Minecraft. We have the same issues as reported above.

Same version is running on his old Fire with no issues. I cannot get Minecraft to work on the new Fire because of this issue.

Do you have Minecraft installed on an SD card? (See MCPE-66549)

If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.

  • On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.

  • On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds

  • On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS. (Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)

If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.
