The Nether fog has been removed.
Though the sky is still colored per biome, it now looks exactly like the overworld sky.

the fog was not removed as mentioned in this report. the fog simply scaled with render distance. if you had a higher render distance, the fog would appear at the edges of the rendered chunks. It wasn't removed. Lower render meant a closer fog
The Nether already scaled with render distance, it just was at a much lower range. What I meant by "has been removed" is that the natural fog was no longer there. It went all the way and stopped at the render distance limit, which shouldn't be considered a "fog".
Regardless, it's been fixed already.
I would much prefer if the fog scaled properly with render distance instead of being at a set distance. I had actually thought that this was not a bug and a fix for nether fog always being really close to the player.
