Whenever you try to strike a mob with a channeling trident, the lighting from the trident will be redirected to any nearby lightning rods. However, it will NOT send a redstone signal from the lighting rod.
How to reproduce
1. place down a lightning rod and summon a mob to strike
2. set the weather to thunder
3. throw a channeling trident at the mob, and the lightning will be redirected to the lightning rod.
Expected result
The lighting would strike the mob, instead of being redirected to the lighting rod. You can see this behavior on java edition when testing this.

Great! Glad its getting all tidied away then 👍 Is there a bedrock report for the lightning rod not sending a redstone output in this situation, or does one need to be made?
As of Bedrock Edition 1.17, lightning rods no longer redirect lightning bolts, neither when summoned by a Channeling trident, nor when summoned by a command. The lightning bolt hits the target, regardless of the distance to the lightning rod (which normally redirects lightning bolts within a 64 block radius, according to my tests).
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been closed as Working as Intended.
This will be addressed in Java to match Bedrock.
Regarding this:
This is a separate bug, and is the Bedrock equivalent of MC-203620.
