Summary
As of Java snapshot 21w17a, copper mining has changed. Now by mining copper ores, it drops 2-3 raw copper instead of just one. On Bedrock however, it hasn't changed. This breaks parity between the editions.
Step to Reproduce
1. Place down copper ores and deepslate copper ores.
2, Mine it using an unenchanted, at least an iron pickaxe.
---> ❌ It drops only one raw copper per ore.

Actually, I would love to see the resolution to this issue rediscussed, as the fix of making copper ore drop 2-3 copper for balance is broken and is inconsistent. The maths don’t work out. A much simpler fix would be having copper blocks cost 9 ingots and the cut copper 4 ingots. (To conserve copper builds low expenses without damaging other potential features.) 2-3 raw copper drops throws all possible future recipes using copper out the window, and the inventory clutter problem isn’t fixed by dividing by 2.25 (block expense) and multiplying by 2.5 (raw copper drops) one inconsistency was replaced with another.

Copper is a building block and also you didn't wait long enough because in 20w17 copper and raw copper now need 9.
