Affects 1.17.10.20

i have this same bug but it is on ios 14 the version i play minecraft on is 1.17.10

The bug still around in 1.17.41 hope it get fixed

Maybe it’s freezing because it’s trying to load all the commands.

I think it's pretty clear that the freeze is because when you first type "/" or press one of the preset command buttons it caches every possible command in the game in order to show suggestions. It is much more noticeable for me on iOS than PC. A smarter behavior would be to load suggestions only if you type a letter after the "/".

But in 1.19 its gotten worse, even waiting takes a long time, please see if you can solve this issue.

"the freeze is because when you first type "/" or press one of the preset command buttons it caches every possible command in the game"
Something like this should be effectively instantaneous on any modern device, the list of commands is not that long and rendering text is not that expensive
a better solution IMHO would be to warm the cache at game launch time

The issue is also noticeable on multiplayer on some server. And I'm on Windows 10.
The suggested solution of caching every command at game launch is not possible due to multiplayer that can have additional commands. So the command caching should happen on world load for single player, and on multiplayer every time the server sends the command list to the client. Of course, that loading / caching should be asynchronous, to avoid the game freezing. If the player starts typing "/" in the chat when the cache is still loading, the interface should not freeze either, letting the user typing the command without suggestion.

This wasn't a problem up until now. it's pretty odd for many of capable devices having this issue.

I have noticed this issue but the game does not crash

Affects 1.19.22 and 1.19.40.20

Even though I have an iPhone 14 with the latest iOS version at the moment (iOS 16.2) storage not even 30% full and Minecraft 1.19.51 this bug is still present

This used to freeze my game for around 30 -40 seconds, but now it freezes for 15 seconds and crashes. It seems to get worse in the newer versions of the game.

Affects 1.20.10 hotfix

Affects 1.20.12 hotfix and 1.20.20.22 preview
Resolving temporarily as Awaiting Response. To anyone who can still reproduce this issue in the latest version of the game (1.20.12), what device are you using (model, OS version, etc.)? Additionally, have you enabled any experimental toggles and does the issue occur in newly created worlds?
