When playing 1.19. worlds take longer to create/load, the world seems to freeze at times
when loading into a world only the farthest left and right slots in the hotbar are visible till the game loads properly. Frame rates drop considerably when near the warden
Edit, new issues found
-Chunks take longer to load
-when typing /, the game takes considerably longer to load the command list
-game takes longer to activate and display a command typed by the player
edit 2
considerable amounts of block lag, especially in the nether. breaking blocks cause them to vanish for a second before breaking and making the breaking sound

Low fps all the time, not just next to warden, even with 5 chunk render distance.
(On iPad Pro 2018 , iPadOS 15.4.1)

Game is loading new chunks very slow, making traveling very difficult

Can confirm. After I have updated to 1.19 the game was (and is) unplayable. (Before 1.18 I had a render distance of 32 chunks. Everything worked fine. In 1.18 i only had a render distance of 10 chunks. Relates to MCPE-143378. Everything worked fine. (I also used an app to set my render distance to 32 chunks and everything worked fine. Minecraft > games > com.mojang > minecraftpe > options. Set gfx_viewdistance to 512.) Now the game is unplayable even with 5 chunks of render distance. The game freezes for like 30 seconds whenever I use commands.

Just upgraded to 1.19 on my ipad pro and the game is now unplayable garbage. This is completely unacceptable. Did you skip QA on this release to make the deadline? If so please fire whatever manager approved that course of action.
Looks CPU usage on the server has also jumped way up. I turned sim distance down to 4 and render distance down to 5 and while there is a noticeable improvement it's still completely unplayable.
Just tested on my android phone and the performance seems nominal so this issue does seem to be iOS specific and not related to the standalone server.
Single player world performance is also garbage on my iPad now.
This video demonstrates the low FPS, high input lag, and high rendering lag on my existing survival world hosted on my bedrock dedicated server on my LAN: https://photos.app.goo.gl/262uGgNRLc7zW5mA9
This world plays just fine on my android phone (motorola edge 5g uw 2021)
This video demonstrates the high rendering lag and high world generation lag on a brandy new creative world https://photos.app.goo.gl/3nPD4d2EPnxSg28Q7
Generating this world took 70 seconds and then the chunks still don't render once you spawn in
Now I get better bedrock performance running in vmware

Experiencing extreme lag on the newest version of Minecraft Bedrock for ios. Whenever using commands it freezes for several seconds, same with spawning things in, breaking blocks, interacting with enemies, etc. Chunks don’t render in for several seconds, making exploration, running, or riding a horse too fast impossible to play the game. This was tested on freshly downloaded apps on both iphone and ipad, (creative and survival) so no pervious worlds, packs, or mods to cause any sort of problems.

Same my game crashes every time

Along with extreme lag in 1.19 on iOS, after traveling through a portal, I start doing something in the area…thirty seconds later I’m suddenly going through that portal again. It’s as if I did nothing during that time.

Iphone xr vs1.19.0
I only did the 1.19 update 1hr ago wend june 8th 2022- and OMG the lag is horrendous!! My world that is only 1month old playing chroma hills 64bit, is barely playable with no textures and all settings down or off! FOR EXAMPLE! After hitting a spider they bounce up and back, i could run around the spider 4!! Times! Before it hit the ground. This new update is broke as can be! Feels laggier then java! Looks like we are all gonna have to buy brand new 1200$ phones just to play mc again 🤦♂️

Experiencing extreme lag with iPad (8th gen, most recent software). Chunks don't load when traveling by boat (moving too fast), delay in sounds (break a block and you don't hear it for a while), cannot react to mobs, and the right movement on the D-Pad no longer works. All started today with the update to 1.19.
Is there any way to revert to 1.18? Game is currently unplayable.

Same! It’s nearly unplayable with the lag!! Did someone leave debugging code on? I’d totally revert if I could. Also biomes seem to be off. My old mountain isn’t spawning goats and water no longer freezes.

In the TestFlight app, there is a feature where you can go back to previous versions of Minecraft. But the downside is you have to get Minecraft Preview and you aren’t allowed to play cross-platform multiplayer except for Featured Servers. Hope this helps for a workaround since there are limitations to the Preview version of Minecraft.

My wife and I have this issue. She has been hosting a world on an iPad Air 2 and I joined on Windows 10. With the 1.19 update the lag has become unbearable especially with things that involve / commands or behaviour packs (we're running a one player sleep pack). It seems worse for her, but very bad for me still (presumably because she's hosted the world). When using a command it can take around 5-10 seconds before registering. Opening inventory sometimes takes a similar amount of time. This is contrasted with when I play single player on my Windows 10 machine. On Windows 10 the lag seems comparable to that of 1.18.31.

Same! All devices I play bedrock on LAG. but not gameplay that’s fine but mobs moving very choppy and food not being eaten and sounds lagging. It was fine before the update.

I’m having issues as well. I have an iPhone 12 Pro, so hardware should not be an issue.
my game:
takes a long time to load chunks (sometimes up to a minute)
I will break blocks and they will reappear
when I open a chest or inventory sometimes a loading bar pops up for a minute or more or until I close the game
when traveling to the nether, the game is stuck loading and I have to restart
mobs sometimes move in what appears to be extreme slow motion. I specifically noticed this with magma cubes
the game has become unplayable due to these issues. I do not have these problems on my computer, but I prefer playing on iOS.

I use iPhone 11, iOS 15.2. Every bugs I experienced is exactly described perfectly on your post. Sometimes FPS doesn’t drop at all, just that everything moves so slow as if I’m a server with high ping!

May be related to MCPE-66740

In addition to all the problems people have said there’s also some sort of sound delay, I had a creeper explode on me and didn’t hear the sounds until like a second of two after the explosion
Playing on a 4th gen iPad Air

Affected iPhone 8 with latest iOS. With this lag I am getting MCPE-154117, which I did not before, and MCPE-128485 is much worse than it was before.

iPad Pro M1 with max specs, iOS 14.3 with 1 tb of storage of which half is used
Exact same issues as everyone here. However, it’s only happening drastically on my long term survival with 700.mb world. Happens on new created world but not as unplayable, just frustrating.
In my large long term world, I copied it and turned on cheats for testing. I /kill @e [type=x] every entity, also got rid of all item frames, chests, and full shulcker boxes everywhere. Turned down game and video settings to lowest possible and there was not a noticeable change, still unplayable. Removed every single resource and behavior pack, cleared all cache from minecraft, deleted and reinstalled game, cleared all iPad UI cache... Still no noticeable change. FPS remains around 15 to 20 consistently, it was 50 to 60 before v1.19.
I don’t know anything to try beyond this. It’s extremely unbearable to play.

I have the same issues as everyone else. I’m playing on a 5th generation iPad. I updated the game and started a new world in Survival, choosing a Mangrove Swamp seed in the Seed Picker so I could explore one of the new biomes. Everything just loaded so slowly. Sometimes I’d be walking on nothing until the block/chunk loaded.
I have Java Edition on my PC too, but currently my PC isn’t working and needs to be sent off for repairs. So my iPad is all I can play Minecraft on right now. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

I'm also experiencing this issue. I turned all my settings down to a minimum and it didn't change. playing on iPad air 4th gen.

Same issues here. iPad Pro. The initial load of the world takes 3 full minutes, then when traveling chunks won't load in fast enough (even if I adjust the settings). Chunk loading was already pretty bad for new chunks, but now even existing chunks take forever to load in while I sit in blank space. The game is literally unplayable.

Same thing for me on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my kids iPads. I thought it was just because their iPads were full so I downloaded the game on my iPhone for the first time ever, created a new world and it took forever to build the terrain and then the chunks take for ever to pop in. Tried lowering the chunk load all the way down with no change.

once i hop out of the nether portal, and swim, but no air bubble pop out, and after a while I got teleported back to the portal

Flying around and generating new chunks with my iPhone 12 is absurdly slow. This is a top-of-the-line phone and the game seems to struggle. Considerably longer world load times as well. Opening the chat window for the first time in a session freezes the game for approximately 10 seconds.

Same issue for me. Unusable on my Iphone 6S. Worked just fine on 1.18. Noticeably slower but usable on my (newer) Ipad and even my Windows 10 desktop. Please fix ASAP.

Does anyone have Minecraft Preview? Is this also an issue with 1.19.10.22?

Is duplicated by MCPE-157227

A symptom I would like to add to this bug: the mobs won’t despawn as expected in iOS. I stayed at a ocean monument and it was quickly filled with guardians. I set simulation distance = 4 and travelled away ~200 blocks hoping to despawn them, but when I came back they were still there.
Note that this may not be the (sole) source of the lag. When I switched to peaceful mode (which despawned the guardians), the game still loaded very slowly. It does improve the lag a bit with less mobs present.

2017 iPad Pro
iOS version 15.4.1 and iOS version 15.5
Minecraft version 1.18.30
3 iPads connected (same specs) to hosted world (hosted on one iPad). Local network. World created in 1.18.30. Hours of play, no noticeable issues outside of a few random disconnection issues and trouble reconnecting (assumed local Wi-Fi connectivity problems).
Upgraded all iPads to new Minecraft 1.19.0 (through App Store, forced to update to 1.18.31 first).
Initial load of world takes up to 38 seconds or more. Abnormal compared to 1.18 loading times.
Multiple issues related to in game updates:
sounds occur after visual events, sometimes up to 3 or more seconds after event (block placement sounds, creeper explosions, torch placements)
blocks that are placed or removed take multiple seconds to update the display (on local device as well as on connected devices)
moving around the world causes abnormal chunk loading, requiring up to 30 or more seconds for chunks to load seemingly related to speed of travel (walking over distances will show visual bugs some times, running will show chunk loading slowness more, boating or riding a “fast” horse will increase the amount of slow chunk rendering resulting in a significant increase in visual artifacts causing “X-ray” vision into loaded chunks adjacent to the unrendered chunks)
Further testing was performed generating new worlds using all default settings with render distance set to 5 and sim distance to 4 (note previously to the 1.18 updates, in 1.16, sim distance was set to 8 and gameplay with 3 players had no perceptible issues). These scenarios all resulted in the same chunk loading/updating issues. (Edit: All iPads were updated to newest iOS version and all testing was redone to rule out specific iOS version issues.)
A quick test was done to create and load Minecraft on an iOS 7 Plus iPhone which resulted in the newly created world taking over one minute to generate. Movement in this world also exhibited the same behaviors as above. All default settings were used to create the world and no other players joined.
No non iOS devices were available to perform comparisons on.

I always start a new world in Peaceful anyway, so I have time to build a shelter and craft weapons and armour before hostile mobs start spawning. As someone mentioned above, even starting in Peaceful results in the world taking ages to load and movement being slow etc.
I did start a Flat world, and there weren’t any issues with it. It was maybe a little slow at first, but not too bad, and it soon became normal.

Same issue on the 10.2” iPad 8th generation with the latest iPad OS version 15.5. Very long loading times and issues with downloading and installing texture packs.
I want to add that the render distance is also very low and limited to only 10 chunks. I can’t increase it any further.

Absolutely agree, my kids play on newish iPads (less than three years old). We have had chunk loading issues for years, it's significantly worse now.

I haven’t had any loading issues before this recent update.
Something else I noticed… when pressing the right directional button on the screen, it doesn’t work properly. I’ll shift a tiny bit to the right, before destroying the block in front of me (eg if I’m on grass or sand). What’s even odder is that, when I’m flying in creative mode, the right directional button DOES work. I can hold the button and I’ll fly sideways properly.

Also reproducible at latest beta 1.19.10 with M1 iPad Pro.

I have the iPad Pro 3rd Generation 11 inch (released 2021) and it has the M1 chip. And yet I am seeing these exact same things. I also noticed that there are missing chunks in the middle of perfectly loaded chunks.

We're experiencing the same chunk loading lag on iOS with bedrock server (linux).
It seems to me that the issue is client side (iOS) not the server. Here's what we've noticed to support this:
using boat travel over ice (which is a very fast way to travel), you quickly encounter undrawn (invisible) blocks that take up to 30 seconds to load
the client will not allow you to travel into the invisible area. It's not clear that this is a server or client issue though (at this point...)
once the blocks load, you can travel like normal. (it's consistent it's just slow to load)
mob pathfinding still works over invisible blocks. Ie. mobs travel over/around the invisible blocks like the blocks are drawn (mob pathfinding still works over invisible blocks). Whilst the client gets stuck
additional game issues
we sometimes get stuck (eg. in between blocks/soffocating) due to travelling too quickly into invisible blocks. This is a major issue for playability

Same here. 1.18 powered rail runs were smooth, now jerky all the time with 1.19. “Loading Resources” is 60 seconds instead of 6. Landscape takes forever to load when used to be instant. iPad Pro 11” 2nd gen.
All local worlds, single player.
Fun game is now painful to play. And all my world building over a year isn’t fun anymore.

Same.
I’m getting intense lag during game.
Examples:
As I’m breaking blocks, they’ll disappear but no sprites, sound or animation will appear for up to 30 seconds after breaking them. Sometimes they’ll revert to unbroken.
Traveling to and from the Nether. The game will stall with my character in the gate not loading to the next area for up to 30 seconds.
In heavily active areas, I can barely move my character and end up falling or being unable to navigate back to a previous area.
These issues are making it impossible to play the game effectively. My internet connection is 500+ MBps and up until The Wild update, I was not having any of these issues.

Yup, I've been having this too. I'm on an iPad Pro 11 inch 1st gen, and its even worse. One time after standing in an unloaded chunk for a while, I just spontaneously died. I also am unable to fire rockets to fly sometimes, and it seems that for part of the loading screen when joining a server, you can interact with the environment, because one time I joined into my survival server and when it finished loading I was dead. Simply awful, needs fixing.

Here are some other issues I have experienced (I will update this with any more issues I find):
-Sometimes you can’t use rockets to fly the elytra (I’ve only experienced this on servers, but let me know if anyone has had it happen locally)
-Sometimes you can’t open your inventory for a few seconds (5-30) after exiting a nether portal. I haven’t tested to see if the same goes for end portals

I don't see this ticket mentioned in https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/6944215774349 so I think it's safe to say this affects 1.19.10.23
Can we get some kind of indication that there will be a fix pretty soon? It's not acceptable to break the game for so many players without making this a priority.

I'm on an iPhone 7 running the latest iOS and my world is 150mB. Before, it ran just fine, but after updating to 1.19, the game slowed down dramatically. Here are the issues I've noticed:
Chunks no longer load fast enough to glide with the elytra. Oftentimes the player will hit the wall of a chunk and will be unable to go further until the game catches up
It takes a good minute for the world to load when crossing portals
Block lag is extreme; blocks reappear after the player broke them
Entities move/take damage slowly (may be result of slow tickspeed)
Opening inventories (chests, furnaces, etc) take a while
When arriving on other side of Nether portals, the game will rubberband the player back to the portal if they have moved out of the portal
Overall, the gameplay has become more stutter-y. There are also moments while walking around where there is a sudden lag spike, and the game freezes for a second or two. Originally I thought this was due to old hardware or little storage available, but I see many others are experiencing this issue on newer devices. If this could be fixed with 1.19.10 that would be great. I'm sure Mojang is actively trying to analyze the cause of this and fix it.

Preview v1.19.10.23 seems to fixed this problem.

I can also confirm Preview v1.19.10.23 seem to fix this problem.

I have lost all of my worlds progres because I was exploring before the update and it took me so long to load I was killed by a skeleton when I spawned in. To make matters worse for me, the game did NOT respawn me at my bed and instead sent me to the default spawn location. My base is very well hidden and I have coordinates turned off, which means I have most likely lost over 60+ hours of progress permanently. I am not angry or anything (after all, I probably should have made a backup before updating but my monkey brain didn’t), but it really sucks to lose so much progress because of an update that was so majorly delayed that it was split into two updates for “quality assurance purposes”. As a developer myself, I understand mistakes like these are easily made and I have no hard feeling because of them but I hope this does not happen again because it sucks on a order of magnitude greater than any other.
Btw I was playing on an iPhone XR, so that may have something to do with it

I wish I could be in the Test Flight beta to test it but it’s full. I guess I will have to wait until they finally fix it. My kids are getting restless because none of their worlds are loading right.

Solution to fix the chat lag (when you type “/“ in chat): type /kill @e. It worked for me but when I relogged I needed to do it again.

@n1xht killing all entities is pretty dangerous, that will include all villagers, minecarts, dropped items, other players, etc within sim distance. but it does point to mob AI being at least part of the source of the lag.

A few additional issues I’ve noticed are…
I keep finding wandering trader Llamas everywhere…they just don’t despawn.
when mining some blocks, the next block is see through.
when mining up high, like in a high cave, block fall slowly like particles.

Even walking is too fast. Chunks load very very slow.

It is completely unplayable on iOS (and others platforms). Period.
I’m on a iPhone 13 Pro Max and with default settings and it can’t handle this update.
Massive load time lags for both generating and loading a world. chunk render lag. sounds are lagged. lighting updates have a black flash when mining. Combat is lagged. The whole thing.
I suspect there is a major memory leak somewhere. As an engineer it’s quite obvious when everything suddenly slows to a crawl.

Another thing, sometimes when you move too fast, the game freezes

I’ve spoke with friends and this issue seems to be native to mobile. This issue is really frustrating for many people. I noticed this bug a few days before 1.19.0 was released. I opened my survival world and I tried to find a village, not a hard task, right. I noticed that the chunks can’t even pick up with me at boat pace, which was odd. This made the process of finding a village excruciatingly hard. Then I did what I had to do, painfully, and then logged in in 1.19.0. There was no fix, I just wanted to find a cold biome to get the cold frog, but it felt impossible. I then thought it was because my world was relatively big, so then I pruned it. Nothing changed, literally nothing. I usually try to get the new achievements in the new updates in my survival world, but now I need to make a new world that has the things I need very close by. I can’t go caving or mine because the chunks are slow and the block lag is horrendous, I can’t go exploring either. The game is playable, but not very enjoyable at this stage. End of rant.

Can you please give us your best estimate when you will release the fix for this? You have a beta version that fixes this bug, right? We won't hold you to it but an honest guess when those of us on mobile IOS devices will be able to play Minecraft again would be appreciated.

I also have this issue and have taken multiple steps to attempt to resolve…
power cycled my device
Toggled all settings as low as they could go, including turning off fancy graphics and setting render distance to only 5 chunks (before I had it set to 18)
backed up my device, saved world files to the cloud and restored from the backup (didn’t end up needing to reload the copy of the world files as they were part of the backup, but wanted to be safe)
while restoring from the backup, I made sure it was connected to our 5.0 GHz WiFi network and did not use it until it was complete
It should be noted that the time it takes to connect to a realm seems unchanged, but loading up my own world takes considerably longer. But whichever world I’m playing on, the chunk loading, audio lag, block placement lag and other performance issues that others have mentioned still persist. It definitely seems to be local performance for iOS/iPadOS devices. I play on a realm with others that use PC/Xbox that claim they did not notice any more slowness than “normal” (minor chunk loading issues while flying with elytra)
I use an iPad Pro 11” gen 2 (from July 2020)

I got to sign up for the Minecraft preview today iOS. I’ll do some more testing after work but I did get 10 minutes on 1.19.10.23 and is significantly better performance. Even setting render distance to 18 instead of default 10 worked, though flying far I could get to chunks still to be loaded but even they loaded a lot quicker.
I also copied my world which I have been working on for months into preview folder and it was nice seeing everything loading as it should be.
I’ll do some more testing later

I signed up for the test flight preview today and can also confirm that the 1.19.10.23 update has solved the issues I was seeing before. Now to patiently wait for the update to come out so my kids can stop complaining about the glitches and other issues.

This is also partially affecting me on my series x. Chunk loading does not appear to be slower but the command list takes a good 5-15 seconds to load and the lag in the nether is severe. I have only used the locate biome command but it took a significant amount of time for it to find what I was looking for. It seems this issue is also affecting more powerful devices on other platforms as well.

Today my game started to crash when I try to open my flat world.

I also installed the 1.19.10.23 Preview, flew through a newly created world and my old one and can confirm issues are fixed, framerates are much better, didn’t get any stutter, world had no trouble loading chunks like before and I didn’t notice any block or sound lag, hopefully the update comes out soon for everyone

Having all the same issues noted here. Never a problem with lag before on this device (iPad Air 3) and was fine before 1.19 update. Virtually unplayable - will not be playing again until fixed.

Signing up for the beta is a night and day difference thank God. If you need your fix you should go do that.

@Jeffscottward Thanks for posting the preview link, Preview 1.19.10.23 works perfectly, I cannot wait for the update !!!

Can confirm. I’m on an iPhone 8 and it never ran Minecraft badly (it actually worked better than my friend’s Xbox). But since 1.19, it has lagged extremely bad. Chunks take ages to load, sounds load several seconds after they should, Framerate drops, and the game occasionally freezes. And to top it all off, I got disconnected from a friend’s world due to lag and when I loaded back in, my entire save file for that world had been lost (meaning inventory and levels vanished).
I know it says the issues are resolved up there, but they are very much not. I was playing just a few minutes ago, and chunks load so slowly to the point where I almost can’t go exploring anymore cause every 5 seconds I have to sit and wait 10 for the chunks to load
Seeing as others are having this same problem, it’s clearly not just my hardware, and hopefully Mojang cam fix the iOS version of the game, cause it’s close to unplayable with the lag I’m getting.

v1.19.2 just came out: seems most of the lag is gone for me, good fps on render distance < 7 chunks.
Insta mining works
Boat on ice nether travel works
(On higher render distance the performance is still low, but that could just depend on the device)

I can confirm v1.19.2 have fixed this issue.

I just tested 1.19.2 and while performance has improved overall this issue is NOT COMPLETELY FIXED.
Test Device: iPad Pro 12.9" 4th gen, iOS 15.5
Minecraft version: 1.19.2
World: Brand new creative world, type=infinite, 4 chunk sim distance
Video settings: Defaults, 10 chunk render distance
Initial World generation speed: Seems normal, that bit seems fixed
Chunk loading speed: Faster than 1.19.1, but still pretty laggy; easy to outfly the world with an elytra at max speed
Control lag: Not noticeable
FPS: Smooth at low speeds once chunks load; low and stuttery at max elytra speed
Changed Video settings: 5 chunk render distance
Chunk loading speed: Still slow, even easier to outfly world
FPS: Smooth at lower speeds, low and stuttery at max elytra speed.
Changed World: Existing survival world with technical base
Chunk loading speed: Faster than 1.19.0 but still slower than 1.18, wearing x-ray specs for several seconds on world load, easy to outfly world on 5 chunks at max elytra speed
FPS: Better but still greatly reduced from 1.18Z, moving view around during elytra flight causes bad stuttering; looking in an area with a lot of mobs or opening a chest or selecting a menu or doing basically anything causes annoying stutter.
Control lag: Noticeably worse than 1.18 but no longer unplayable like in 1.19.0
Video settings changed: 10 chunks rendering distance
Chunk loading speed: Still easy to outfly world
Video settings changed: 18 chunks rendering distance
Chunk loading speed: Can not out-fly world, although chunks are still slow to load
FPS: barely acceptable
Control: stuttery
Back on 1.18.33 elytra flight at maximum speed was smooth with no appreciable lag or stutter on 18 chunk render distance and 12 chunk sim distance on this device. It used to be great on 24 chunks in older versions.
TL;DR Performance has improved but is still generally bad compared to 1.19.2 on Android or 1.18 on either platform. It is still easy to outfly the world with an elytra, FPS is still reduced, and control is still laggier and more stuttery. I would describe this as playable, but only just barely. The experience is still severely negatively impacted.
I think this ticket should stay open until these iOS performance issues are fully resolved. The overall performance and experience is still unacceptably regressed.

I’ve also found that music disks don’t produce any noise?

Music discs play fine on mine. Double check that you have downloaded the music pack from the marketplace. It does not come installed by default.

Also confirming that 1.19.2 fixes the issues.

1.19.2 did not fix the issues for me on my iPhone 8. Stuttering while moving around was immediately apparent, and animated textures still do not animate.

1.19.2 fix works for me
chunk loading lagginess is solved.
fast boat travel (packed ice road) is fast, smooth frame rate and chunks are loading easily, without disruption to travel
notes:
i updated my bedrock server, on linux docker, to 1.19.2.02
then updated my iOS clients to 1.19.2
I have tried with 2 simultaneous users, will try more tomorrow
hardware:
iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen)
In 5 minutes of testing, I have encountered only one issue in 1.19.2
When eating food 3 times, the client then reverted 2 of those actions, so it appeared I had only eaten once).
it was like the client and server were getting out of sync
This issue appears unrelated to MCPE-156737. If it persists, I will raise a new issue...

Here’s my report on 1.19.2 using my iPad Air 3:
Fixed:
Slow chunk rendering
Slow menu loading (tied to the slow chunk rending issue)
Entity lag (sort of)
General lags and stutters during gameplay
Issues still needing to be addressed:
Particle lag (e.x using a splash potion. Minor issue, but it’s still kinda annoying)
Chat freezing when typing /
Overall, I’d say that 1.19.2 definitely made the game on par with 1.18.31 in terms of performance, smooth and lag-less. Thumbs up to that 👍

1.19.2 is playable again! Thank you! Not sure if it’s quite up to par with 1.18, but at least it isn’t painfully slow anymore.

Tremendous improvement.
Right movement works again, chunks are loading (I have it on 6), portal movement is much better. I have not reverted all my video settings, but the game play is MUCH smoother.
Thank you.

I noticed another issue with 1.19.2, crafting is very slow, like 1 or 2 items per second. On android I can craft a whole stack in 1 or 2 seconds. This is such a core element of gameplay. I assume it's related but maybe it's a new ticket. It seems to be related to the number of mobs.
Create new flat creative world, 4 chunk sim, 5 chunk render, no mob spawning, always day
Give self 9 stacks of iron nuggets
craft iron ingots; it's very fast
Summon 64 wandering traders
Frame rate goes down while looking at traders
Frame rate goes up when looking away from traders but is still less than normal
movement and animations are stuttery no matter where you look
crafting iron ingots becomes slow regardless of where you look
kill @e
performance is restored to nominal
This is bad enough to become noticeable after several minutes in a new world as mobs spawn in. /kill @e restores performance temporarily but it goes back down as more mobs spawn.
I repeated this test on my android phone (moto 5g uw) with the following results
Slight drop in FPS when looking at mob of traders but less than on iOS
No drop in FPS when looking away
Crafting slows down slightly while looking at traders
Crafting takes place at normal speed while looking away from traders
no stutter in movement or animations looking at or away from traders
I'll note that when I /kill @e performance is restored to normal even with the new mass of mob loot drop entities so it seems to be related to mobs specifically and not all entities

I can also replicate with minecarts; when facing many minecarts, eg in an infinite storage system, rendering becomes very stuttery. Turning away causes it to smooth out. So it’s not just mob or collision detection, it’s rendering entities. I can’t replicate with block entities though, fields of hoppers or signs cause no appreciable lag. Armor stands do cause it.
can also replicate with redstone light updates, eg a field of rapidly blinking lamps or torches. However this stutter remains when looking away from the redstone. Here is a contrived example. It’s also bad at smaller sizes.
/fill ~-32 ~ ~-32 ~32 ~ ~32 observer [“facing_direction”: 1]
/fill ~-32 ~1 ~-32 ~32 ~1 ~32 observer
/fill ~-32 ~2 ~-32 ~32 ~2 ~32 unlit_redstone_lamp

I used a text editor to turn off vsync and it helps with the stuttering somewhat and the lag is pretty much gone. It's still stuttering a little, which is not acceptable, no game engine should stutter, but it's less noticeable. it's clearly better than with vsync turned on and I'm not noticing any tearing. FPS also feels a bit higher but maybe that's just less stuttering; it still feels low compared to what it should be or used to be. IDK how renderdragon ever saw the light of day... it is a bug IMHO. But playability is def improved w vsync off.

Now I’m getting the pink glitch; 1.19.2 iPad Pro iOS 15

My performance issues on iOS seem to have been resolved by the newest update. Thanks Mojang!!

Not for me 😞

On an iPad Pro 2018 (iPadOS 15.4), gfx_vsync:0 in options.txt
Good consistent fps on 5 chunk render distance
Low stuttering fps on any higher render distance

Just wanted to report that the issue isn’t completely resolved. Yes the lag had been improved by a bit, but it’s still a huge issue. Why? Well I have to keep sim distance down to 4, which sucks because now I have to stay near my farms. Before I could run sim distance 8 without issue before 1.19. Now I have to disable weather in order for the game to run smoothly. I don’t get to experience rain or thunderstorms any more, otherwise it starts to lag. It really frustrates me that I can no longer enjoy the game like I had before…

This isn‘t completely fixed. I can‘t use spectator mode because chunks load too slow.

1.19.10 still outflying the world with my elytra. Have to fly high so I don't hit mountains before I see them.
Movement is still stuttery with vsync on, smoother with vsync off.
FPS is still low in areas with lots of mobs and entities.
Crafting is still unusually slow in some situations.

Still confirm it in 1.19.22 and 1.19.40.21 Preview.
Minecraft on the M1 iPad Pro causes significant frame degradation after 1.19. Even high-end devices with the best mobile chipsets don't avoid this problem.

Same here with chunks load longer and can’t keep up to my flying pace and also the the block placement and the sound it produce is also lagging on my iphone 7 plus and must work better than my minecraft in android with antutu of 200k and the iphone 7 plus is 300k plus but still my minecraft on android works well than my iphone and thats how i found this issue not only on the iphone but also in the net as well.

I just got 1.19.50 on my iPad Pro 2021 w iOS 16
My framerate is still pretty bad, about 15fps in my trading hall with 42 villagers, a zombie spawner farm, a few iron golems and minecarts and slimes. I think an iPad Pro should do better than that.
Input lag is greatly improved and no longer really noticeable. Controls are nice and snappy.
The stuttering issue also seems to be fixed. While the framerate still seems unusually low for an iPad Pro, the movement and animations all seem smooth and fluid and the overall gameplay experience is greatly improved.
Chunk loading performance is still garbage and I’m still getting partially-rendered chunks which are super annoying.

On my 6th generation iPad I can see still some lag, but it seems to have decreased. I don’t know if I’m just getting used to it, or if the lag has decreased.

Also an issue in 1.20

Affects 1.21.0
Very low FPS in most parts of worlds
FYI my device has an M1 chip, a high-end CPU which should not be lagging

No apparent problems on M2 or M4 iPad Pro.

This is not resolved at all. Performance issues continue to plague my iOS device. I can only play at 4-5 chunks from the max 18 on my iPad Pro because of how low the framerates can go. Literally no other game lags like Minecraft for me.
