This is happening in my single player world for both 23w13a and again today in 23w14a.
I have lost all of my worlds progres because I was exploring before the update and it took me so long to load I was killed by a skeleton when I spawned in. To make matters worse for me, the game did NOT respawn me at my bed and instead sent me to the default spawn location. My base is very well hidden and I have coordinates turned off, which means I have most likely lost over 60+ hours of progress permanently. I am not angry or anything (after all, I probably should have made a backup before updating but my monkey brain didn’t), but it really sucks to lose so much progress because of an update that was so majorly delayed that it was split into two updates for “quality assurance purposes”. As a developer myself, I understand mistakes like these are easily made and I have no hard feeling because of them but I hope this does not happen again because it sucks on a order of magnitude greater than any other.
Btw I was playing on an iPhone XR, so that may have something to do with it
Thanks to Antho Foxo for posting the workaround. It turned out that all of my hives and nests were in one chunk, and adding a single (hidden underground) hopper clock fixed the despawning issue.
Just downloaded a copy locally, it behaves the same. I attached a picture of the setup, with no hopper below it works fine (except I have to manually unload the potions), but as soon as I place a hopper below the brewing stand it unloads the water bottles immediately. It does not matter whether the hopper below points at the barrel or not.
This problem has now 'disappeared' for me. No changes to account or settings were made, and the bug is still open. Mojang, there is a bug here somewhere! I did change my account type from a Gold membership to a ultimate subscription when this problem appeared. Nothing else changed. The error that tells people to mess with their privacy settings should be changed to "just wait and eventually the problem will fix itself". While privacy settings may be one cause, there are other causes - like membership changes. Please read through the other comments (like John/Alyssa).
^^ what Michaela said. This is a paid service - that I cannot use. Thank you for looking at it!
This error started a few days ago on Xbox (1.16.40). Microsoft xbox support confirmed my profile is fine. My privacy settings have not changed, and this worked previously. I did add Game Pass Ultimate as the only change.
Mindcraft support sent me here and suggested I up vote. Is that how we get bugs fixed? By asking customers to vote on them?
I can access from the iPad with the same account. It is only on the xbox that it does not work.
Ironically, to the realms I am paying for...
[media]I CAN'T give you steps to reproduce because i don't know how it happened, genius.
Observed results: things dont load properly, like my profile picture, the store, and sometimes my skins
expected results: things dont load properly, like my profile picture, the store, and sometimes my skins
Also impacting Nintendo Switch version as of 5/24. Has been happening since my daughter purchased it a week ago.
Yep, same here. Fishing is broken. Can't reel fish in. Fine yesterday before the update but broken now.
I have the exact same issue!
I have the same issue.
I have been having to 'kill @e' all golems in my village since 19w13a, and with no negative reputation effects. I do this because within 2 days they respawn to number 400-600 in the village making it unplayable. I was hoping for a fix to that problem, but this problem of the golems attacking me and other players without provocation on my server only began today with the 1.14.2 release.
I am suffering the same problem of attacking golems in my large village that I have worked on since snapshots. My village has a population of 150-200 villagers and golem population reaches 600 every few days and I have to kill off(I know, another problem for another thread) but now after updating to 1.14.2 I have 3 golems that search all over the village trying to kill me. killing off all the golems does not fix the issue. three more spawn to attack me. trading to improve my reputation does not fix the problem. I did not include logs because there is nothing to show, and taking screenshots while being attacked is not easy. anyway, frustrating.
Peter, I read your bug thread. I have not had any new duplicated entities since finding and killing all of them. I'm running single player Minecraft on an older desktop pc (Intel i7-3770, 16 GB RAM, GTX 780Ti, 2560x1440 monitor. Video settings are towards the slower, fancier end of the spectrum (11x11 blending, 24 chunk render). My game play is not laggy, so maybe that's why I haven't had entity duplication since killing all the dupes? I've also stayed out of the Nether because some have proposed that Nether visits cause the light emitting block bug. Maybe I'd get duplication if I caused my base chunks to unload and reload?
I followed Matthew's solution (MC-145413), and it worked! I no longer have duplicate entity entries in the log, and the places where I could not place a block now accept blocks. It did take some time to copy UUIDs from the log and paste them into /TP commands, but probably only a couple of hours. I placed command blocks to kill zombies, villagers, and iron gollums. It took more than 10 command iterations to kill the last of the duplicate villagers and zombies.
I have a single player world with this "keeping entity" bug. I'm still using my 19w07a save because of the "ticking entity" bug. I tried killing everything but me ( kill @e[type=!player]
), then quit out of Minecraft, then relaunched the game, and found that many villagers, 2 iron golums, and a horse were reanimated. So I killed them with my sword, one at a time. Again I quit out of the game, then went back in. And again, the villagers, golums, and horse were back.
The log shows many instances of "keeping entity" warnings.
My understanding is that I need to remove the offending entities with a world editor, but MCEdit is not ready for 1.14 snapshots.
FWIW, I did search. I found other bugs involving ticking entities, but they all involved some player action. In my case there was no player action. The game crashed immediately after I joined the world.
Cave torches that I replaced yesterday in 19w07a are now reset to light level 0 after I visited the Nether today, even though I turned off the day/night cycle and the weather cycle.
I have the same issue. Server version is 1.21.102 and the Xbox and iOS clients are version 1.21.101. I can’t play on my server.
