Tremendous improvement.
Right movement works again, chunks are loading (I have it on 6), portal movement is much better. I have not reverted all my video settings, but the game play is MUCH smoother.

I have the same problem (along with unplayable lag). IOS, 8th gen iPad, 15.5
Experiencing extreme lag with iPad (8th gen, most recent software). Chunks don't load when traveling by boat (moving too fast), delay in sounds (break a block and you don't hear it for a while), cannot react to mobs, and the right movement on the D-Pad no longer works. All started today with the update to 1.19.
Is there any way to revert to 1.18? Game is currently unplayable.
I'm playing on the iPad and am having the same issue. PLEASE restore the old D-Pad and make the new one just an option. Motions that have become second hand now no longer work!
