The right button on mobile is broken I can’t move to the right

Same thing happened to me I'm using my Samsung tab s7 which is android tablet base device.  the right Dpad isn't recognising it being touch instead it's overlapping recognising it as punching or breaking blocks I really hope mojang fix this issue as fast as possible. 

Same here. Does not happen while flying in creative mode however. Only affects survival mode and creative mode while normal walking.

Hi mojang i the device am using in that video is an iPhone 8 plus and the screen is not cracked or damaged if that’s what you wanted to know.

I made an issue about the same thing. The right button was normal until 1.19.

Same story here! button was normal until the new update. (Ipad 5th gen, Ipados 15.4.1, Minecraft version 1.19.0)

I have the same problem (along with unplayable lag).  IOS, 8th gen iPad, 15.5

Please fix this asap. This is high priority and is a serious problem for us, especially mobile pvpers like me. Its really hard to pvp now not being able to strafe well

I also have this problem. I think the problem has to do whit button size. It kinda work on button size 70. (As in it works but if you tab to close to the edge will you stop moving). But anything above button size 71 makes you not move at all.

Same problem, except that it moves a step right and then begins punching. iOS 15.5, iPad Air 2.

i tried changing buttons size it didn’t seem to work 

update: i tried changing button size to 40 and that helped, but i cant really play with that small buttons either

please work on this problem asap, the game is unplayable with this bug!

Its been almost a month, and they have not fixed this yet. I run on IPad air’s and they both seem to have issues.

Since this is a gamebreaking (not the good kind) of bug that affects the vast majority of minecraft players, I hope mojang impliments a fix to this soon. It seems like they tried to create a "dead" zone where the only imputs registered were on the movement buttons but forgot to make it scale with the device. Please fix, I've been unable to play minecraft on my ipad during this time bc every time I try to walk right i just get frustrated and sad.

If you use claw grip at all, the left button doesn’t work either, and can’t forget the INSANE LAG and frame drops.

I am having this issue on an iPad Pro 3rd Generation, running the latest software and 1.19, and I know that my friend is having the same issue on his android tablet. I love 1.19, but it would be very appreciated if this could be fixed.

This bug also affects button sizes below 90. I play with button size 77 on a 11 inch screen, which also consistantly makes it impossible to move right. The same occurs at times when I try to move left. PotatoPie mentions that it on,y affects the right button, but I’m pretty sure it also affects the left button as well.

I experience this issue on my iPad at button size 50 on my right button

I've noticed that the half of the button towards the touch screen doesn't work for my phone (Moto Z4), but for my laptop with a touchscreen I'm pretty sure it's fine

Thought I'd add my experience to help with the bug.

I use an iPad Pro (3rd Gen) with a button size of 58, and discovered that half the right d-pad button worked. If I pressed the inner half, it wouldn't register, but the outer half worked just fine.

I've tried as many sizes as I can, and discovered that anything below 65 works like this, where only half the button works. 65-70 works sometimes, but will sometimes just break, and anything above 70 just flat-out won't work.

Other people are mentioning the left button also not working, but it seems to work just fine for me.

I hope this can help in some way.

For me it only happens when i switch the button size to higher than 90(im on a iphone 6 btw). This is still very pitiful of mojang, minecraft deserves better than this.

I have been experiencing this same issue on my i-ad pro (5th gen) its very annoying as this can cause issues when you use your shield and need to move left.  Mojang pls fix this soon

In on iPhone 8 plus and my button size is 100 and I can't move to the right at all it keeps thanking I'm trying to mine and when I change the size it still will not work please fix this.

Can confirm that this bug is occurring on Kindle Fire devices running Android OS.  The bug is intermittent, but it is pretty persistent and recurring to the point of frustration.  It seems like the game thinks the button is much smaller than it actually is shown, so the intermittency may just be hitting the sweet spot where the button does register that it is being hit.

I confirm the bug on iPad and iPad Air, iOS 15.5. No way to move to the right 

This bug is not on phone for me for some reason, however i know people who play on an ipad and it doesn't work for them, but it doesn't seem to be for all mobile devices.

I’VE JUST FOUND A WORKAROUND: go to settings -> touch and reduce the button size to 30 !!!

After messing around with the controls for a while I found a few things. First, this only effects regular walking and NOT flying and swimming. Secondly, if you turn on 'lefty' in touch settings, you can move to the right no problem, however you cant move to the left. This led me to believe that hotbar was interfering somehow. After more messing around I found that if the buttons don't extend over the hotbar, it seams to work properly most of the time.

Ye our right button extends onto the hotbar on 4:3 screens while mojang probably did the qa an a 16:9 screen

{-}{{-}}Edit: Nevermind what i just said. Its a problem with the screen's touch hitbox where it prioritises 'long pressing' your held item.

Btw just tested - if you lower your button size to 44 or less, the bug is gone. rip phone players
EDIT 2: Button size 44 might just be me, i play on an iPad air 2 with a 9.7 inch 4:3 screen

This bug is due to the movement button’s overlapping the hot bar. If you lower your GUI to -1 or -2, or you lower your button size this problem will be completely fixed.

This only happens in 1.19 because the update caused the movement buttons on touch screen to move slightly to the right.
 

It's very unplayable at the moment. Even if you fix this issue by changing the settings, sometimes your thumb will create two touches on the d-pad arrows, which will force the player to place blocks/attack, causing many accidental inputs. Building and playing the game becomes extremely hard as you'll place blocks/attack whenever you move. (See MCPE-151107)

And if you hold the arrow keys, and slide your finger away from the arrow keys, you'll suddenly stop moving. This causes a lot of deaths when trying to escape from mobs. We should still be able to move even if my thumb slides a tad bit away from the arrow keys.

Hopefully the new touch controls comes soon, along with full customization like size/position/opacity of each button, etc.

It seems that the devs created a area underneath the buttons that does not interact with blocks (break or place).

This is what allows you to move instead of just placing or breaking a block behind the button.

However, it seems that this "no input zone" does not scale with the size of the device screen.

To solve this problem, I found that using button size 40 or lower on Ipad Air 2 will fix the problem completely. I do not know about other devices.

After updating to 1.19.2  it looks like the bug has been fixed. I tried multiple button sizes and the right button seems to work just fine.

the device I use is an iPad pro 12.9 inch gen 2 with button size 79.

I also updated to 1.19.20 and it works for me now!
