After escaping the green overworld crashes into the nether, and being spawned in a far ways from my nether portal I go to get wood to start building a house in the nether as I was now stranded there... I begin to notice lighting is different. like I had a shaders pack on witch I did not. I would go from everything being bright and easy to see... to everything being darker at random changes of block's I begun=n my hunt for glow stone only to find it is kind of hard to tell the difference between glow stone and lava?! shoomlights are described as bright White lights with dark bolded corners. I learn glow stone as a White light with this sunset feel to it just that hint of an orangish yellow tinge to the White. almost completely with no texture. just nearly pure Wight with an unknown glow to it. like a bright, but dim light at the same time?! lava I have gotten to know as an White with a tinge of orange color to it. the look as if a strange distorted version of soul sand with haunting faces glowing a dark glow.
constantly at random these blocks switch between there normal texture's with a shaders pack feel, and there "new" texture with a more dark nether feel of a texture pack. either way is this a "new" texture's or a major glitch. you tell me. I will try to put picture's, but it is kendo random when the texture's flip. I do have a picture of the "new" lava I will send ASAP
Added photos in order the left is glow stone the center is shroom light, and the right is lava. I have more I may add in time, but here is a glimpse of it. its not just close up V.S. farther away its kind of random I know if I stand here everything will be normal but if I step a few blocks away everything around me will change lighting wise.
I added all picture's of the nether lights of lava, shoomlight's, and glow stone I had gathered so far and from the image you can see there is like 2 textures that randomly switch between for all of these said block's. I may include a short video of the sudden light changes I see all around. IDK if anyone else has this issue, but its one that is kind of scary cuz I cant tell lava from growstone half the time!
sadly the file's for a video is too big for this upload system, but I created this link for show:
Note: distance is not the final deciding factor.

Ok Minecraft. I do like what you attempted to do there. I don't use many other apps these day's but I did run a different test of my own.
Lets start with my first beta rule:
With the experimental cave's and cliff's feature ON:
From my experience with this toggle on game randomly crashes... or that is a report you get a lot something like "game crashes within 5 seconds of opening world" right? Lets break that down. For me when I log in to a world surrounded by green I have no issue's so long as I DON'T adjust my camera angle or look around. First thing people will do upon entering said world is attempt to look around to grasp there surrounding. We all know that is the first thing we all do, however what if that is the issue. I noticed when I am flying in creative I am mostly ok to look around, but not in survival or on the ground. when attempting to fall down from fly mode in creative game crashes when I am looking down or around. This issue is not accident in Minecraft with the CAVE'S AND CLIFF'S OFF.
Said lighting issue above was not noticed in 45 minutes of gameplay with cave's and cliffs setting off in a new world.
Crashes in OW seem to get more common the longer spent in the same area, however leaving and coming back may change that. I was unable to achieve getting into the nether or into the caves to do farther testing in creative in a new world with the cave's and cliffs turned on, however I have experienced zero issues with crashes, or other issues in the Minecraft caves from previous issues so long as zero green exist. No issues with the color green when caves and cliff's setting turned off in a world, not is there lighting issues in the nether with said cave's and cliff's toggle off. if said software issue exist I would presume it would affect Minecraft nonmatter what of the experimental toggle.
People are not going and exploring the nether very much as the update is in the overworld, however there have been many unexplained crashes in the 1.17 with cave's and cliff's turned on, and if I was not as good as I am in computer's I would say "UNEXPLAINED CRASH" but as I am I clam my crashes to be with the color green when moving or adjusting camera angle's.
Now there is only one better in computers in my city them me, and we are friends. I asked him to look at my software, but despite all these people saying "random crash" or "unexplained crash" I think I have though it makes not any since… somehow it has something to do with said code for color green. I will later today test, and see if playing in "black and white" mode changes anything.
Sorry Minecraft, but I have to try to be honest as I can with you from my personal skill. I don't know a fix for say, but I am trying to give info as I can.
as long as cave's and cliffs is OFF I have no issue's, but I didn't join beta to play with out the new cool cave's. I'll face the issues, and fight back to my best, and I will have fun.
Ok, well that's the first time you've mentioned the Caves & Cliffs toggle being involved. Excerpt from the 1.17.10.20 Beta Changelog

Sorry about that. Ok clarifying: when caves and cliff's world setting is on the color green in an infinite world crashes when attempting to adjust your camera angle with any green on or entering the screen. If I looked at the blue sky I would be fine so long as no green is on/ enters the screen, and am fine as long as I do not adjust camera angle I am fine. As well when the caves and cliff's setting is on nether lighting acts strange (seen above). As well when cave's and cliff's setting is ON deepslate generates between y=10 to y=-10, but not below Y=-10
there is some simple clarification. Last night was the FIRST time I played with caves and cliffs setting turned OFF, and I did it to test my "software"/"hardware" on my phone to prove it was not my phone, but indeed Minecraft cave's and cliffs setting when turned on. when caves and cliffs worlds setting is OFF NO ISSUES APPARENT.
Exited to update my Minecraft app as soon as this update higher then 17.10.20 reaches my device. I hope this fixies same both minor, and major issue's. I hope as well my clarification help's
I joined Bata to play with the new caves witch means cave's and cliffs world setting must be turned ON. If I wanted to play normal I would have stuck with 1.16... whatever the newest non-Bata is. I like to go big (with the experimental features ON) or go home (back to 1.16) =) its how I play best!
I look forward to the update beyond 1.17.10.20 beta snapshot on bedrock mobile android phone's. =) thanks for everything! I love learning of all the issue's, and sharing my experiences related to the different bug's/ issues.
This issue presented here is about lighting issue's in the nether when cave's and cliff's world setting is turned on.
Last known Bata update on my phone was may 25th 2021 and was the 1.17.10 Beta upgrade where "Various bug fixes" is the summery in google play store on android phone. You said it was 1.17.10.20 on the may 27th 2021. IG mine dose not officially have the .20 at the end in the play store, and was not the 27th, but 2 days before that date. For a official record posted my me about game upgrade's.
It seems when I stand in certain X/Y position's in the nether the code/ texture's of the light producing block's change. Though no one else has experienced or has and have yet to report it that may be more easily explained by the fact the lighting glitches happen ONLY in the nether from my observation. Given the fact the major update is in the OW not the nether, thus the people who would even have the chance to experience it do not as they are spending limited to no time in the nether, as well I have noticed said lighting issue is more common, but not limited to the RED nether forest AKA crimson forest's and only with cave's and cliffs experimental world setting turned ON.
This is my LAST info sent onto this bug report until a new beta update is sent out, and received by my device. Pay close attention: I will NOT nor could in my right mind threw many test's, and many confirmations deny the fact that the game crashes for me ONLY when in a world with the cave's and cliffs experimental toggle ON, and ONLY to add on top of that ONLY when there is some form of a green color/ green colored block (or dirt) on my screen, and NEVER crashes in areas of zero green. coincidence or not I do not care, but somehow undeniably threw many test I can prove endlessly from my side of thing's... I can not deny things ONLY crash when there are two condition's meet: condition 1. caves and cliffs experimental toggle ON. Condition 2. some even if in small amounts of green (or larger sums of dirt, not including curse dirt to my awareness. May be caused by regular dirt has the DNA for becoming grass block with green on it, and course dirt dose not.) appaired on the screen. I might be able to provide videos of such if needed, but this fact nonmatter how improbable threw my endless test CAN NOT be denied.
I will report back on these issues listed below after the next beta update.
Nether lighting error when caves and cliffs is turned on, and standing is specific area's
deepslate generating between Y=10 to Y=-10, but not below Y=-10, and appears to generate in big group's/ hunks similar to how Blackstone, Granite, ext generate.
Game crashes when attempting to adjust camera angle with any green or huge sum's of dirt on the screen, and only when caves and cliff's experimental toggle is turned ON. (Green only crashes the game in closer distances to the green, and green mob's do not seem to effect it. Not all green's seem to affect it. Greens that I know do 100% are grass, leave's, vines, but NOT the new glow Barry bush. I don't know about all the green's. I am sure sugarcane are included. Things have changed a little with some small improvements I learned to make to help me a little. ) (seems to effect mostly natural green's/ natural green blocks)
Please don't attach any more screenshots! I understand what you're describing as that your screen randomly shifts to a very bright level and back. That's pretty simple and understandable by itself, though a couple of screenshots would have been good to show the contrast, and the video leaves no room for confusion. All the rest of those images just show the same thing, which is less than useful because it feels like noise.
This kind of problem is typical of what happens when there's a hardware fault, specifically a loose connector or broken solder joint. It could conceivably be a bug, but if so it would very likely be happening to many more of the millions of Android Minecrafters. If it is, in fact, a hardware problem, it would likely occur in other games and apps, too, though perhaps it's not as noticeable on a page with a bright background.
A hardware fault might also explain your hypothesized "green overworld crashes" (from your other report), since that also sounds very unlikely to be a bug. (Colors are just numbers to a program, and green is a whole range of numbers that are as much like the red or blue numbers as they are like each other.)
Please check whether you can detect the brightness problem at times other than when you're playing Minecraft. Let us know either way. If it happens in other apps, it's probably a hardware problem and we'll close this report. Otherwise, we'll leave it open and hope somebody else experiences it and is able to provide more information, because the devs need to be able to reproduce a problem before they can fix it. In the mean time, I'll close this report temporarily, but it will reopen automatically when you respond.
