I got a band new mouse and keyboard and I was figuring out stuff on it and reseting my key binds and my new mouse has side buttons and I used to have side buttons as hot keys and I reset it and now I try to set it as key binds again but minecraft doesn’t see as buttons and at first I thought it was my new mouse but I tried with a different mouse and still didn’t work

Same i have a g203 and it used to work and i play on Xbox and the mouse used to say mouse button 5 and 6 and the mouse also has a dpi button which i assume would probably be mouse button 4. Mojang please fix this I cant live without these keybinds.
I got the same problem with my mouse, if it was possible to get the ASCII code of these buttons, we could fix that on the options.txt files and the problem is also on android
This is an issue in the latest version (1.12.44) on iOS when connecting a mouse via wire. Minecraft does not recognize my mouse side buttons at all, even when using the mouse software to reprogram the buttons to keyboard keys. I am using the Glorious Model D Wireless gaming mouse. The side mouse buttons work on Windows 10 BE and can be used for keybinds. They also work on Java Edition.

This report is specific to Xbox and is already resolved. If you are experiencing this on iOS (iPhone, iPad), please create a new report for that platform (after searching for an existing one).
I have this issue as well. The problem seems to be in the actual keybinding menu screen, not so much the inputs in gameplay. I already had mouse buttons 4 and 5 binded before the recent hotfix, and at first only mouse button 4 had stopped working and i could actually use mouse button 5 in gameplay, which i found a bit peculiar. When i went to rebind MB4 i saw that the keybind menu didn't work either so out of curiosity i tried to test whether mouse button 5 shared this problem. It turns out it does, leaving the two keybinds useless. The fact that i only failed to bind these buttons after the hotfix goes along with your report of being unable to bind them on the current version, despite them working on previous versions. So far i cant find a way to reset the problem myself by means of reinstalling the game/ restarting my console.
I also checked with my keyboard to see if the problem exists in any keyboard buttons. All buttons that you'd expect to be able to bind work just fine, so no problems there. Therefore the issue seems exclusive to extra mouse buttons.
Hope this helps narrow it down a bit or at least gives a bit of useful detail.
