Unable to mine/break in survival mode

What happens when you press the mine button? Can you hit mobs? Have you tried different tools?

Ok so I can start to mine/break now but now I can't seem to eat in survival mode now.

Yes I am holding the buttons down. Not just pressing it once. I can mine now. It's just I cant eat. I have put the level of the game down so I don't need to eat as much

Food just stays in my hand and my hand just keeps moving as if eating but nothing happens

It is all worlds and is on the switch console.

Do you also get any other kinds of lag, e.g. MCPE-111640?
Have you tried checking for corrupt data (through switch settings) or reinstalling the game?
Are you using any kinds of accessibility settings that might affect long button presses?

I have managed to change the button configuration and it seems to be working ok now I am able to mine and eat now.

Sounds like it may be a problem with the controller. I am resolving this ticket as "Cannot Reproduce."
