I Randomly Saw Polar Bear And Its Cub In The Snowy Slopes Mountain

I want to say that it's WAI. Though I'm not fully familiar with their spoawn habbits. However, a Snowy Slopes Mountain should be a logical spawn biome for them.

Polar bears have always spawned in all frozen biomes, so I don't see why they wouldn't spawn on snowy slopes. Do you have a reason why this is not expected? Maybe if they don't ever live on hills and mountains in real life or they don't spawn on snowy slops in Java Edition?

Uh i think it would be more realistic if polar bear only spawn in snowy tundra and frozen ocean biome, matching where they live in real life. after all they don't live on hills.

This is most likely because the "frozen" tag in the biome JSON also includes the polar bear. I suggest filtering out the mountain biome from polar bear spawn rules.

The problem with polar bear spawns in mountain biomes is that they will also spawn on (for example) cobblestone al the way up to build limit. Which can be a problem if you get trapped on a build because a polar bear and cub spawned behind you.

Wiki says they only spawn in mountain biomes on Bedrock, but I have not tested it in Java to confirm. So, could be a parity issue.

Also, of course, polar bears drop fish when they die, since the drops were based on real-life polar bear diet. They're marine mammals. If the intention is to keep the spawns as-is, polar bear drops should maybe be changed to reflect their new extended habitat.
