Upon defeating the Ender Dragon, I noted that the End Gateway portal generated, but I did not immediately go into it. I instead jumped through the End Portal to return to the Overworld. Upon returning to the End to finally use the End Gateway, I noticed that it was not there any longer.
I did, however, notice something very strange: while searching for the End Gateway, on one of the corners of the island, looking up and into the void space, I noticed that there were launched purple fireballs appearing, seemingly, out of nowhere shooting off into the distance. This happened perhaps 3 times, each time moving further and further away, as if some invisible entity was there flying and firing fireballs into the void. Has the Ender Dragon, somehow, respawn in some bizarre fashion, causing conflict with the End Gateway?
I'm not a very skilled/confident player, so I'm not entirely sure how to replicate something like this. I checked to see if there were other tickets related to this issue, but I didn't find any that were up to date/being worked on. If there is one currently active, I do apologize in advance for missing it.
NOTE: This was a Survival world up until I decided to create this ticket, which I changed the game mode to Creative.

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter)?

The fireballs were just at the edge of your simulation distance, so each time you moved closer they loaded and moved to the next chunk (16 blocks).
