Marketplace resource packs deactivating whenever the game is launched

The resource pack I use (The Classic Texture Pack) in my global resources doesn't stay active when relaunching the game. I guess it's related to the Marketplace as that's the only resource pack that does it when the other active ones were downloaded outside of the Marketplace have no affect from this issue.

Steps to copy:

  1. Have a resource pack purchased from the Marketplace

  2. Activate the resource pack in your global resources and let it save

  3. Close and relaunch the game

  4. Check the active resources to see if it's still there and active

Every time the game is relaunched, it throws the resource pack into the inactive resources tab.

It does somewhat except in the current version and there is not a message saying the resources reset. It just puts the marketplace resource pack out of the active packs and back into the inactive packs but keeps any that aren't from the marketplace active.

I'm having this same issue with v1.19.2 on Windows version

I am also having this exact issue, as originally reported by Speedy, as of v1.19.2 on Windows 10 Home edition (OS Build 19043.1766, for what it's worth).  IMO, MCPE-154319 does not describe the issue.

There are no pop-ups containing an error message.  There are also no apparent error messages related to the Marketplace, nor related to ownership of the affected resource packs.

All Marketplace-sourced resource packs stay Active until, at a minimum, the Minecraft client is closed.  Upon closing and restarting Minecraft, regardless of whether launched via the Minecraft Launcher, or from the Minecraft Bedrock shortcut:

  • all mods obtained via the Marketplace lose their Active status and may be found in Settings > Global Resources > My Packs, where they need to be individually re-set to Active status

  • all non-Marketplace mods in Settings > Global Resources > Active, such as from bedrocktweaks, appear to perform as expected and their Active status correctly persists between Bedrock client sessions

This issue is incredibly frustrating, and would likely be confounding to newer users with Marketplace purchases since their resource packs would simply appear to stop working without warning, with no obvious (pop-up) error messages.

Is there a .log file (or something in a similar vein) that we can enable, which would use to help further inform the troubleshooting process?

Experiencing this issue on Switch, and my boyfriend is experiencing it on PS4. It has persisted through multiple uninstall-reinstall cycles. Have not tested with non-marketplace packs; neither platform can use them and my current phone doesn't run Minecraft very well.

I have this issue on Windows 10 with 1.19.41.

We are tracking this issue at MCPE-33009, so I am resolving this report as a duplicate.

Same here, windows 10 and Xbox Series X
