I am unable to re-equip "Default Alex or Steve" features to my character in the character creator after I "equip" some other item first.
Reproduction steps:
Create a new Character in the Dressing Room (otherwise you risk messing up your existing character)
Click on Body -> Eyes
Select something other than the default ("Ecstatic" works here, as a test)
Click "Equip" button
Select "Standard Stare" in the list
Note that the "Equip" button does not appear
Go back to Body, note that Standard Stare is not equipped, and has reverted to Ecstatic
Therein lies the bug.
The only way to get the following items re-equipped is to create a completely new character:
Bases -> Alex
Bases -> Steve
Hair -> Alex's Hair
Hair -> Steve's Hair
Eyes -> Standard Stare
Mouth -> Alex's Mouth
Mouth -> Steve's Mouth
Tops -> Alex's Top
Tops -> Steve's Top
Bottoms -> Alex's Pants
Bottoms -> Steve's Pants
Shoes -> Alex's Shoes
Shoes -> Steve's Shoes

just a temporary workaround, its very very unintuitive but…
click on the item you wish to equip and confirm the colors (as if you’re equipping it)
go to emotes
back out
hope this helps 👍
can this maybe be looked into again? as of 1.19.21 none of the items from the marketplace or the ones already owned can be equipped (or they can be equipped but not showing up on the ragdoll, unable to see how the character looks), thus having to be stuck with the Steve skin or the ones from various packs, not customized by preference. the workaround above - confirming the colors doesn't help.
using a premade skin from one of the other packs does change the skin of the character in-game, but that is not how the dressing room should work, is it?
Affects 1.21.44 (MCPE-188594), and as far as I and the reporter from MCPE-188594 tested, the default eye option (Standard Stare) is missing.
i can prove this.
