My son and I play Minecraft together. There has never been an issue with us connecting over LAN, me being on a Windows 11 pc and him being on an Amazon Fire kids tablet, running OS 7.3.2.6 (we play using the same Windows/Mojang account). My computer is connected via Ethernet and his tablet Wi-Fi, but the same network, nonetheless. The LAN games worked from the first time he downloaded the game ( a few months ago). Then it just stopped working yesterday, with nothing seeming to change. The strangest part is if he creates a world I do not see it under the "Friends" tab where the LAN option shows up, but if I create a world he does see it under the same "Friends" tab with LAN and can join. We both have the same version of Minecraft, and I have tried other troubleshooting options; restarting the computer and tablet, uninstalling and reinstalling the game on both systems but nothing has changed. It is baffling because the LAN literally was working one day and didn't the next.
Thank you.

I have an almost identical issue. My son and I play together (he on Pocket for iOS on an iPad, me on Windows 11 laptop.) We've never had any issues connecting over LAN before today (1/10/23.) We last played on 1/8/23. The only difference is that LAN games are not visible on either device, no matter who hosts.
Tried every troubleshooting option I could find or think of. No recent updates, no changes to settings on the devices or in-game. Same version, same network, no firewall issues, etc. Reinstalled and reset ineffective. LAN games DO work as normal between Pocket on iOS and Android, though.
Glad it's not just my machine.

Similar issue. LAN was working fine and no network changes have been made. I'm not sure the exact Minecraft Bedrock version was previously successful (November or before). The Windows 10 computer that used to host successfully cannot be seen by iOS, Kindle, or other computers on the network. The Windows 10 computer can see and join iOS or kindle games. iOS and Kindle can join each other.
I have tried the basic troubleshooting steps online. Disabled windows firewall, disabled security software, turned on UPNP on router, ensured network discovery was on, and tried installing fresh and hosting on another Windows 10 machine. No success.
Windows 10 update 22H2 was also installed since the last successful LAN game.

I think you are seeing this same issue here. Lately it seems there is a bug where devices can't connect to Windows machines. No idea how it happens, it just randomly does.

Even reinstalling windows didn't help

Same stuff happening since 11.01 (might be .51 update). Minecraft on Fire tablet stopped discovering worlds hosted on Windows.
What I've checked:
1. this is not a network issue, since if I run standalone bedrock server on Windows, android tablet can join
2. both Minecrafts have same versions
3. Windows version can discover and connect to the world running on Android
4. made sure settings "multiplayer" and "visible to LAN" are enabled.
5. checked firewall, minecraft has all the permissions (no changes made before the issue occured)

I have an almost identical issue, too.I tried LAN connection with 3 laptops.Strangely, I can only connect to one.
After reinstalling minecraft, I was able to connect, but after restarting my computer, I couldn't connect again.
ver 1.19.51

can not see friend LAN :
A(win10) -> B(win10)
C(win11) -> B(win10)
A(win10) -> C(win11)
B(win10) -> C(win11)
I had no problems until early December last year, please help.

Similar troubles here. My kids all play Minecraft together frequently on Windows 10 PCs. But all of the sudden, they cannot see each other on the LAN nor as Xbox Live friends. Something has definitely broken here (and subsequently destroyed my kids ability to play together all day today as well as my day trying to troubleshoot this).
Networks settings have not changed. Firewalls and network privacy settings match all the guides settings. All computers versions of Minecraft are 1.19.51. Multiplayer is enabled in all the worlds we've tried.

Also having the same problem. I did a reinstall of Minecraft on both affected systems. Now I can run the world on system A and system B can join, but if I run a world on system B, system A cannot see it. The problem seems to be that system B does not listen on ports 19132/19133 when it has a world running, whereas system A is listening on those ports when it has a world running.

This is the same bug as this: MCPE-165811
Resolving temporarily as Awaiting Response. Is this still an issue? Comments under MCPE-165811 state that the issue with Switch has been fixed.

LAN randomly started not working between windows and iOS devices during 1.19.60. Yesterdays patch 1.19.62 still no luck connecting via LAN. Affected devices can see/join a PlayStation via LAN but can not see each others LAN games.

Same issue.
I have 3 PCs / Windows 11 up to date, with latest Minecraft version 1.19.6201.0. If I start a LAN session, I cannot join.
I also have a version on an Android tablet. If I start a session there, my PCs can see and join the Android Minecraft session.
I have not changed my network/security settings recently.

For a while it was working agian, but the problem is there today.

I have similar issue, I have 2 W10, 2 ipads and iphone. Only if I create game on iphone others can join. If anybody else create game, nobody can see it. All devices has 1.19.62

I usually host the MC world on my Win10 machine, but recently broke in the same way as others described (in this issue and others). When world is loaded, MC is not listening on 19132. When any of my kids host on their Fire tablets, it works as expected. I tried loading up the dedicated server, and it worked as expected. Reinstalling the MC Windows app either through Windows Store or Xbox App did not resolve the issue. My PC sees the broadcast packets coming from the tablets looking for the game, but MC isn't listening and therefore nothing is sent to the tablets to indicate the game is running.
Edit: All devices are running 1.19.62

I have two win10 machines, both are running 1.19.62 build 13844480 branch r/19_u6, one starts the server the port locally is not opened and there is an ICMP message destination not reachable port not reachable. If the other starts a game, then all works fine. The firewall is off on the problematic machine.

Changed title to include multiple platforms, since platforms field mentions multiple and there are various platforms mentioned in comments as well.

I have experienced this problem since at least 1.19.60.
All devices currently running Minecraft 1.19.62 and reproduce this problem 100% of the time. Our family is completely unable to play multiplayer on the LAN.
Local game server running on an iPad (iPadOS 16.2, 20C65).
Can not connect either from another iPad (iPadOS 16.2, 20C65) or Windows 10 Home (19045.2604). 100% reproducible with one of two behaviors:.
(1) Sometimes, LAN games do not show up under the Friends tab at all
(2) Other times, LAN games under the Friends tab as "Joinable Friends". In the past, it used to show up under "LAN Games". Not sure if the change was intentional, o a symptom of the problem.
If you try to connect to that game, the "Connecting to multiplayer game" screen shows for a while before failing with a screen displaying "Connection timed out. Unable to connect to world."
Screenshots available on request, if you think that will help.

I'm running into this issue between PC and our Xbox Series X. Played yesterday, logged in today, and could not see each other. This seems related to the Microsoft account used. If we use the same account, which we normally do, then it does not work. But if we use different accounts on either machine, then both ends can see the worlds on the LAN and can connect. Nothing here has changed in our setup. We have been playing like this for over a year on PC -> Xbox Series X, and successfully prior to that on PC -> Xbox One X. The Xbox always hosts the games too.

After the comment from tatesn I tried out the following:
I have 3 PCs (1,2,3) and 3 microsoft accounts (A,B,C) and an XBOX X
if PC 1 with account A starts a game the other two PCs cannot see it (PC2-B and PC3-C)
if PC 3 with account C starts a game the other two PCs cannot see it (PC1-A, PC2-B)
if PC 2 with account B starts a game the other two PCs can see it
if PC 1 changes the account to B and starts the game the other two PCs can see it
if PC 1 changes the account back to A then its broken again
if account A starts a game on XBox X account C cannot see it
if account B starts a game on XBox X account C can see it
The difference (what I know of) between accounts A and C vs B is that A and C was always an adult account, while B used to be a child account then I got upset with MS restrictions and changed it to adult (but it is still somehow a mixed thing in MS) it seems I remembered wrong, all three was an adult account. So it seems to me it is really depends on the MS account starting the game.

PS4/PS5/PC all hosted worlds on LAN without issue. Since updating to 1.19.63 hosted worlds are not visible under the friends tab anymore and so we are unable to play together.

Same issue here. Hosting LAN minecraft game on newer Xbox Series S. Starting last week cannot see game on Windows 11 1.19.63 bedrock (same microsoft account). Can see on Android (same account) and Xbox Series S (different account). I've tried adjusting firewall, updating, removing anti-virus, rebooting etc. Nothing I do helps. All accounts are adult accounts that have worked consistently over the same LAN with the same account settings until last week.

I have same issue from 1.19.62 on Windows10, IPad, IPhone, and Android.
Updating to 1.19.63 doesn't solve on all devices.

Since 1.19.63 unable to connect to LAN games. PC/PS4/Android/XboxX . For PC to PS4(Host), the game appeared in the friends list but would fail to connect every time. I tried connecting the PC to an online server for testing. After connecting to the online server, the Host no longer shows in the friends list. Restarting the PC game did not change this, however restarting the PS4(Host) world did make the game reappear in the friends list. Same or similar behavior for other combinations of above listed systems. Very odd. Have tried fully restarting all systems. All systems are on the latest version.

I'm having the same issue. I run my game on PS5. Others using Minecraft for Windows on PC can't see the game even though it's opened to LAN. This has only started to happen in the last week or so ... it worked fine before that.

I am a network system administrator and I play Minecraft with my 2 children. previously before 1.19.63 our LAN game worked without any problems. Although nothing has changed on my network I have been through all the usual troubleshooting, all network sharing is on and firewall and AV has been turned off. I have even removed and reinstalled Minecraft on 2 machines and reset the network stack on all 3 machines. I have also created new test worlds on all 3 machines and on each machine that runs the test world the other 2 cannot see the world in the friends list. I am at a loss as to where to turn now. The only change to any of the PC's on my network is my sons machine having the epic games launcher installed? No add-ons in use either. All the machines are on 1.19.63 and we always played without being logged in to any account.

Having similar issue.
Running on 3 iPads; one for me and one for each of my two kids. LAN play worked fine until about two weeks ago.
Now, my iPad (8th gen, iPadOS 15.7.1) can see and join their games in the Friends tab. But they can't see anyone's games on theirs (both 9th gen, iPadOS 16.3.1). We've never used Microsoft accounts and the multiplayer and Local Network settings are correct. All devices are running app version 1.19.63, though issue also existed with 1.19.62,

Just wanted to chime in that I have experienced the same problem. Recently purchased an XBOX X so my family could play minecraft bedrock on it. I already own it on PC. I researched before getting the XBOX that we could play local LAN games together using the same Xbox account on the xbox and PC. This did indeed work for the first couple of weeks. However, several days ago I suddenly was unable to see the xbox multiplayer game on my PC. After buying the console, and xbox live, specifically for this purpose, it is extremely frustrating. I feel as if I have been scammed.

Solved?
Yesterday, a world my daughter playing with her iPhone was listed on my Windows10 PC, and I could play in the wolrd together!
I tried iPad, iPhone, Android, all devices worked fine with 1.19.63, not work last week.
No system update, No minecraft update.
I don’t know why solved.

I can confirm, it started to work without any change I know of.

Just checked our 3 PC's and they can now see each other.

Same here. All PCs can see each other without any change.

These are the reasons for LAN not working issue -
Windows Defender Firewall has blocked Minecraft.
The other computers you are trying to play with on LAN are connected to different networks.
Your PC has outdated network drivers.
You have disabled “Network Discovery.”
Certain mods are creating issues.
#[Here]are the fixes that can help you to fix the issue.
