Two players on same LAN not able to see each other's games anymore

Since two days ago, two players on the same LAN could no longer see each other's game nor could they see each other on xbox game bar (both show each other as off line although neither chooses to appear offline). The result is we can't play the game we've been playing for months. Same router, two ethernet cables to two desktop computers. Also tried to disable firewall to no avail. Are any other players seeing this issue with LAN games?

This seems like it could be related to MCPE-165811 - however, we believe that bug was fixed in 1.19.60. Can you confirm that you are on the latest version of the game?

We were both on the 1.19.5x before the 1.19.60 were pushed out several days ago and we both updated to 60. Everything was working. The day after the update to 60, we encountered this issue and have not been able to resolve despite we can see each other's computer on win 10 explorer as network computers. We see each other as offline on xbox game bar. Is it possible that Microsoft messed up their updates? I've never used xbox game bar but out of frustration of no solutions I tried that. Nobody can see nobody else. I have two computers and both behave the same. I only occasionally use my second computer to play minecraft and when I was playing we were able to play together. I have a regular windows account and my son has a minor account on his computer. I'll have to test the xbox game bar thing with my wife's computer to see if there's something very wrong with how gamers see one another.

I have the same problem did you find any solutions ?

No. I tried every trick I found online, short of buying a 3rd license of minecraft to install on my wife's computer to debug this issue

Thanks for the extra information. There has been a small change which may have improved the situation - are you still having issues connecting over LAN on Windows devices?

 ...

Couple of other question if you are still having issues:

  • Can you see the games via LAN if you sign out of Xbox?

  • Are you on multiple LANs?

Can you check on your device to see whether you have certain Services running?

  • Open Services on Windows (Win key, search Services)

  • Check whether the following services are running, and if not, start them:

    • Connected User Experiences and Telemetry

    • Xbox Live Networking Service

    • Xbox Live Auth Manager

OK, I resolved the issue last night. So the symptom I want to mention was that we both displayed our xbox game bar and both see the other party as offline despite neither of us is using appearing offline and we both appeared online with a green dot at our own icon.

So then I thought, what if something is wrong with the friendship settings which we checked and rechecked? So we both unfriended and then re-friended each other. Bingo! I could see my son's game and my character's inventory seems good.

So the solution is to unfriend and re-friend.

What else we tried that didn't work in case you wanted to try as well:

Install the preview version on windows

Try to add each other as friend in preview version

Use a win 11 computer in the mix

Did you have a similar problem you solved with this solution? Did you have to unfriend all your LAN game friends? I'm just curious to know.

The problem was resolved with 1.19.60, and now is back again with 1.19.62!!

Again no option to connect to LAN. Nothing pops-up in the 'friends' list.

Unfriending/Re-friending only works if you are on two microsoft accounts I guess. In our case we are on a single one, as we share the computers/games within the family.

SAME! It was fixed before and now NO devices are connecting via LAN! somehow they made it into a bigger bug than last time. My son has an Ipad and I on the PC and we would connect via LAN and play with each other. Now we can't see our worlds anymore 😞
