I loaded up my usual world and my inventory, gear and contents in my ender chest were items that were from years ago. I only know this because of tools that I had made back then and named were now back in my inventory. For context, I died and lost those items years ago (they were named very specifically) so to see them was certainly shocking (nostalgic though). Luckily I had saved a copy of my world and once I loaded that up, it was 100% correct.
I can only assume this is a result of the bug I have been seeing posted on this forum of players loading up and noticing that their levels, inventory and chests are all empty/zero. Maybe because my world is older it had an older save it reverted to?

That is very odd, must have something to do with cloud saving. Was it a singleplayer world?

It is normally single player, no one has been on it with me for a while. Interestingly I have an update to this though. Every time I close the app on console and reopen the app, and choose this specific world, the first time it loads, it loads into that file from years ago (with the exception that besides inv, armor and ender chest, the world is how it is supposed to be the last time I played it). I can then exit that world, reopen the world and it is the correct and current version. Where it gets more interesting is every time I reopen the world for the first time, I start where it ended the last "first" time. For example, I exited the world in a body of water (incorrect inventory), loaded up world again and was fine (correct inventory). I exited the app, reopened the app and started world again in the body of water (incorrect inventory). It is saving my last location with the bug (incorrect inv) while also saving the progress of correct inventory.

This is the same issue as MCPE-164765. The game is simply not loading your current user account info before it loads the world, so it falls back to user account info from when you last played without a Microsoft account.

That makes sense, thanks Mod Goldenhelmet and Latelag. Like I said, I just have to close and reopen the world and it returns to normal so everything from my end as of today is good. I appreciate the swift responses.
Also for context: the world is exactly how it was when I last saved it. Items in normal chests were correct, recently created buildings, roads and torches were all there. Nothing was missing beyond the things I listed above.
