Zombified Villagers Do Not Use Minecarts After First Heal

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Spawn a villager

  2. Place a bed and workstation block

  3. Wait for the villager to link up to the workstation

  4. Break the workstation block

  5. Turn the villager into a zombie villager

  6. Place a minecart or boat nearby and try to get the zombie villager to enter it

  7. Repeat steps (5) - (6)

Observed Results:

The zombie villager cannot enter the minecart or boat.

Expected Results:

The zombie villager should be able to enter the minecart and boat.

When converting zombified villagers to villagers, mechanics work during the first heal. But when villagers are being zombified for the second (and subsequent) times (in the same location as the first heal in relation to all blocks), the newly changed zombified villagers pop out of the minecart and do not get back in the minecart until they become villagers again

I have this issue too on Xbox One.

Steps to reproduce.

1. Set World to 'Hard' mode.
2. Place a Villager in a mine cart (Can be a villager with a trade, or without).
3. Acquire a Zombie, and let the zombie infect the Villager in the mine cart.
4. Villager will exit the mine cart at the moment they are converted into a zombie..

I have noticed that the same thing happens with boats (Villager will exit the boat at the moment they are converted into a zombie).

This was reported fixed by Mojang in 1.19.20, but based on the comments on MCPE-76831 the fix may not have been effective. Or, this might be a slightly different issue than what the reproduction steps accounted for on that ticket.

I have recently experienced this issue as well however my steps were a bit different. I cured them before ever linking to a workstation or trading.
