Armor and materials can be put in the smithing table GUI without putting the templates first

When inside Smithing Table GUI, you can put your armor/tools and materials first before or even without the templates. This is in contrast on Java, where you have to put the templates first before putting anything else.

I always found this feature odd, and I prefer Bedrock's implementation of it.

I agree with FireLiz; if you place in the template first, then the other materials, and then remove the template, the same "effect" can be reached on Java Edition, thus the Java Edition implementation is really weird (and mostly an annoyance) in my opinion.

Works as Intended, as seen on the change made in the recent Java snapshot to match Bedrock:
— For ease of use, the Smithing Table no longer requires a Smithing Template to be in the template slot before placing an itemstack into the other slots
