Buttons and Levers can no longer be placed on top of fences, walls, lightning rod, and iron bars

After updating to Minecraft Bedrock 1.20, buttons can no longer be placed on top of fence blocks. While it might not serve much practical use, buttons on fences were a neat detailing option. The button otherwise behaves as intended (ie. breaks when block update occurs, powers adjacent blocks, ...).

It would be nice to reintroduce it back to Minecraft bedrock edition as well as introduce it to Java edition.

That it could be confirm

Relates to MC-146564, That couldn't placing buttons/lever to top or bottom walls

This is also the case with amethyst crystals, they used to be placable on walls

The platform should be set to 'Multiple', as it does not just affect Windows

It was said it will be fixed in 1.21.10, but the issue persists as of 1.21.20-23.

As the "reporter" for this issue, please simply add to the Affected Versions to this report. This is much better than adding comments, as those just clutter up the report. Also, there is nothing on this report that indicates it was "fixed".

Still affects 1.21.30

Still affects 1.21.40 & 1.21.41

I have this same issue- buttons already placed on top of fences can remain until they are broken- then they can no longer be placed. It has been since the 1.20 update.

Still happening. Pushed buttons on fences that had already been there for a while. They broke and now can’t be put back on. v 1.21.81.
