[MCPE-173202] PlayStation: Game freezes after a while giving error CE-34878-0

On Ps4, after update 1.20, the game started to freeze after a while and gives the error CE-34878-0, so all the time, both when I play on the old and new worlds and when I exit the world and again gives this error and so on all the time.

Hey'o, PlayStation user here. This seems to happen every 40 minutes while playing multiplayer with error code "CE-38700-8" and an error message. I also seem to be running into a lot of error message "We can't validate your login" any time I hop off a world, get off a server, or wait for too long in the main menu screen

This crash only seems to happen and occur when I play on Featured Servers, worlds seem to be unaffected but it is near impossible to play on a server without a crash.

Hi, PS4 player here. This is happening to my daughter and I on both our PS4's, since last Minecraft update. We get a blue screen with the error code as above.

same issue for me, game keeps freezing and crashing ever since the last bug fix it gets really bad when:
-trying to load new parts of a world
-opening/buying maps obtained from cartographer villagers
-using nether portals ( 50/50 chance of not only causing a crash, but also teleporting me to a random location 1k blocks away and inside blocks, meaning i suffocate upon reloading)
This minor bug "fix" has made the game unplayable for me

hello, we noticed that this problem happens when loading an area of the map, we don't know for sure but it could be that some block or item is giving this type of conflict with the 1.20.12 update

I ask that the moderators solve it as soon as possible because it is discouraging players from the realms that we signed.

Same issue, and my PS5 doesn't log the error or give me the option to send a error report as the console completely freezes and requires a hard reset.

MCPE-168201 explains the issue more.

Haven't played for months now as I don't believe the freezes are very healthy for my PS5.

I get this constantly now.
I've had up to 7 crashes in a single gaming session.

PS4. Single player mostly.
It's making the game pretty unplayable.

I don't know whether it's related, but the game thinks I'm offline a lot of the time too. I have to restart it to join the world hosted by my bf on pc.
Not sure that's relevant, but it's the only other different thing lately.

I need to stress that NO errors are given on PS5.

It just completely freezes the console which then requires a hard reset (holding the power button for 30 secs) to shut the PS5 down.

Upon powering on, the PS5 goes through a repair mode before resuming normally.

Sometimes when loading minecraft after a crash/freeze a PS notification displays saying "a save file was restored due to corruption".

I have quit playing for now and deemed Minecraft unplayable on PlayStation out of fear of damaging my console. I look forward to a fix.

It crashed twice for me last night but there was an update late last night for me on PS4 Bedrock, W.Australian time. I'm hoping this is a fix of the issue.

I have noticed a couple of things about this problem.

1) Now I'm playing a survival which is now around 250 MB. I've explored and mapped so far the total of 2 complete maps territory more or less.

Its not much, its still early game. However, the game is "saving" (i mean chest pic appears up right corner) too often, with consegmquence of slowing and freezing for seconds the game. HERE the error happens most of time.

2) Many times also the game is lagging, like you are destroying a block, the block should be gone but it visually is still there and you can pass through it, then the image of block disappears after seconds.

So, this 250MB file is lagging and slow like a 953MB file.

3) the error also has happened 99% while exploring. It ALWAYS HAPPEN this way: im exploring while riding a horse, it crashes, I re-enter the world, I spawn many blocks BEFORE the point where i crashed.

I spawn on foot, i walk to the point i crashed and my horse is THERE. Approaching at around 20 blocks from the horse, the game puts me back on the horse, even if i wasnt near enough to ride him.

hello, here we tested it in our realms after the 1.20.14 update, and we verified that apparently the problem was solved.

what happens now is that instead of closing the game, it freezes for a few seconds and works again.

We have also verified that the microsoft account connection error has been resolved.

As stated before auto save freezing and block lag are separate issues that have been present in the game on all platforms for some time now.

This is purely a PlayStation issue that causes a crash on PS4 (CE-34878-0)

On PS5 no error is given because the console freezes entirely.

And it is definitely still present at least on single or multiplayer survival and creative worlds. We don't have realms to test on.

There are many different possible causes of a crash and they are auto-reported by the game or server and investigated further by the development team internally, so they are not generally kept on the bug tracker.

The PS5 doesn't report 'ANYTHING' there is no option too!

Because it freezes the entire console.

Error history states NO errors.
