For devs reading: For me it crashes when it says Ziemplicity (Owner) under the realm's name. My name is Ziemplicity

Does this crash occur after hitting the play button to launch the game, or when trying to join a Realm with Realm Stories enabled?

This happens for me moments after pushing the Play button. It doesn't even crash all the way. It's like a second after I push Play and the game options come up, the game minimizes and I have to select it to load again.

I should add that this happens on my android tablet.

If I put my iPad into airplane mode I can at least get to my non-realm worlds

Does logging out & back into the game solve the issue as per this comment?

No. I signed out and signed back in. Then pressed play on the main screen. The game completely crashed after 1-2 seconds after loading the worlds screen.

I activated Realm Stories. Eventually I closed the game. Later I opened it, pressed Play. My gametag loaded under the Realm's name saying Owner behind it in paranthesis and right when that happened it crashed. (Worlds screen). Must be a connection with the realm.

Signing out and back in does not resolve the issue. For some reason it now shows I have two realms. One with 7 days and the world I was playing in and a second without my worlds and the rest of my 6 months time. Very strange.

Correction. Logging in and out did work after I cleared Minecraft's Cache.

I cleared my Marketplace Cache then tried to play and it didn’t work. So I logged out of my Microsoft account, closed completely out of Minecraft, the. Opened it back up again and signed back in and it is working now. So bug fixed for now? Lol.

This took me about 10 minutes of trial and error but if you click fast enough to click on the edit button of a single player world, then play on realm, then select the broken realm.

Once on your world is uploaded it will automatically load you into the realm on that new world - [THIS METHOD DOES REQUIRE A EMPTY SLOT/WORLD YOU DON'T MIND DEPLETING] - Then from there click menu and disable the story feature then just leave the realm and activate your old world.

It Affects all offline worlds as well... i cant play the game unless i turn wifi off... there has to be a way to opt out of realm stories

Thanks for the reports everyone, we are working on getting a hotfix out. Please don't bother purging Marketplace cache or any other workarounds - we have Realms Stories disabled on Android and iOS until the hotfix is released.

This is happening on windows where opening the realms stories feed will occasionally crash the game, but not upon opening the realm. Should I create a separate ticket for this?
