In his Realm we play on, my friend, who plays on the PS5, tried to use the firework with the Elytra, but he died randomly as soon as he used the firework (the death screen even says he precipitated).
Here's a video that shows the bug happening.

This could be caused by a server-client desync. Did you notice any other odd behavior preceding this event? Are you able to reproduce this? If so, please give us steps to follow. Also, make sure that your client isn't modified by any behavior packs and/or addons that could cause this behavior.
How many firework stars did you use on said firework?
It'd be greatly appreciated if you could tell us more about the bug, as we currently have very little to go off.
okay, so, here's the info my friend provided:
Before the death, there was a "clamorous" (bad) lag, both because he had a slow internet connection and because the world is "very heavy" (which increases the lag), and he was also exploring the lands fast, so the world was kinda struggling at loading.
The lag was "contained", and he wasn't exploring too fast, he was flying normally. He took all precautions, but he died either way (the death in this bug report wasn't the first time he died randomly, which is why he took precautions).
There aren't any add-ons. Only the resource pack shown in the video.
No firework stars were used. Just the base firework rockets.
I can't seem to join the Realm at the moment, so I can't yet attempt to reproduce the bug. I'll try to reproduce it as soon as I can.
Thank you for the update!
It's sounding all the more possible that this could be caused by a server-client desync. The issues you're encountering while quickly loading the terrain can be attributed to MCPE-120971
Since your friend has an active subscription to Realms, would it be possible for them to transfer the world to another device and upload it here? Instructions on how to do this can be found here. If you're having trouble attaching the world directly, you can always upload it externally (using One Drive or Google Drive) and then share the link here. Just make sure the link is set to public and that no personal or sensitive information can be viewed.
He said the client-server desync seems plausible, though he also said it also happened on his singleplayer world (a non-Realm world, which I don't think should have this issue since I don't think singleplayer worlds require an internet connection?).
As for the world upload, he said the Realm subscription has expired, so we gotta wait a few more days to renew the Realm subscription for now (he hasn't yet said anything about if he can or wants to upload the world, I guess I can just ask him about it again after he renews the Realm subscription).
A server-client desync may also occur in singleplayer, as a copy of the server is always run and stored locally.
There is another way to transfer a world over to another device from a PlayStation, that doesn't require an active subscription to Realms:
Make sure your BLANK USB stick has been formatted to FAT32
On your PlayStation, go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device > Select Minecraft > Select Saved World to copy > Copy
This should then copy the world save to the USB, which you can share to a file sharing site such as OneDrive, and then share the link.
