The generations delayed when flying, the big tiles causes x-ray blocks, as of the generations are lagging again, this usually happen on 1.16.100, as of these blocks are lagging, the sounds were partially fixed on 1.16.210 but it isn't however the block generations still lags
the frozen generations are affecting 1.16.210 and sounds sometimes lag
The bug started on 1.16.100

Hi, can confirm that major block lag happening on my lan connection via android to an xbox world. Especially grass and dirt. Stone and the like. Even lag picking up dropped items. I can't see any improvement really, which is weird cos Silent said it was fixed.

I can confirm this. It's kinda been fixed but it's still not as smooth as 1.16.40. Mojang please fix this the switch can't even handle the game.

The game is unplayable but the thing is the trial version of minecraft running perfectly like minecraft 1.16.40 did. Please fix this issue I can't even play on my world because of this frame drop issue. I hope it's gonna fix. Thank You.
Could you please mention the specific devices where this issue is occurring?

In My Case Iam Using Samsung Galaxy M40 6GB Ram Snapdragon 675Processor Adreno 612gpu. Also I Just Found Realms Running Perfectly Like 1.16.40 For Me. The Frame Drop Issue Happening On Single
Player,Multiplayer and Servers Such As Hive,Cubecraft
Edit: Also Chunk Loading is Slow If You Are On Creative And Flying The Game Is Unplayable 7 to 8 fps

1.16.220.02 also have this problem

@Spencer
What specs are the devices you mentioned?

I still see x ray tiles when i fly so fast
following devices
Window 10 - PC
Window 10 - Mobile
IOS
Android
Nintendo Switch
PlayStation
Xbox
Amazon

Hi Spencer, what Magdalena here needs is specification of listed devices like dx diag for win10, OS and model of mobiles and consoles etc.
It would be very useful if you could add these details to your report.

Description updated
my personal device
Nintendo Switch
IOS
Android
My android is for addons

@Spencer what phone you using and what is your phone specs

I used multiple devices like IOS, Android and Nintendo Switch

Multiplayer Have Less Lag I played With my friend And it isn't lagging like the single player world and creative mode does

I experience this mostly on Nintendo Switch, and my Fire Tablet. This happens when I'm playing multiplayer.

Hi, I've been getting major block lag again. Also mobs seeming to freeze and then zoom to their actual location. This makes combat a bit difficult. Blocks reappear after mining, can't pick up dropped items, can't open chests. This is on a Lan server wold hosted by xbox one player and I'm on android. I tried in a solo world too and got the missing chunks and xray vision happening when I moved around it.

I Have A Problem here that i forgot to add
While im loading a chunk it super lag and while im playing it lags for no reason the longer i play the greater the lag in 1.16.40 there is no Lag At All
My Device Is Samsung A52 4G
With snapdragon 720G which is fast
I hope This Lag Will Be Fixed

I have the same device as MCJosh12 and experience the same chunk loading lag. From looking at performance tracking software it seems that the GPU gets throttled whenever the CPU goes above 20%

Yea smol bug was right
I also remember that on 1.16.20 i had 32 chunks
But now its just 22 and on yt that makes vid on mcpe 1.17 and his fps is so low i hope this Game will be Optimized/no lag Also is Render Dragon Is On MCPE?

RenderDragon is not currently on mobile. A lot of the recent lag issues after 1.16.100/200 introduced RenderDragon to Windows 10 also occurred on mobile. The only RenderDragon specific issues I see are graphical glitches. I am not sure if it gives an increase in performance or decreases it

RenderDragon definitely decreased performance on my windows 10. I used to get 300+ fps but after RenderDragon I am barley getting 40fps

I just Updated to 1.17.10.20
And It Kinda Smooth But Still Had A Lagging Issue
But Im Okay With that atleast I Got 50 to 68 fps sometimes its 70 and ita weird cuz on flat world my fps is like the same as the infinite world and loading a chunk sometimes its smooth sometimes it lags I Hope It Gets More Smoother cuz its Not Smoother than the older vers like 1.16.40

Also why my fps is limited to 68 i cant get my full 90fps its just that also while i go multiplayer i lag so much not like single player It need it to be more smoother the other players are mad about it they said why its so laggy why im i lagging and more

I have removed superfluous, distracting content from the description.
Everyone: Please keep comments related to the reported issue. This ticket is about delayed rendering of chunks and/or blocks, and sound delays sometimes related to that. It is not about FPS, general lag, high CPU usage, etc.
Spencer: Please do not use the report description to respond to comments. The comments have dates and sequencing and that is critical for understanding how they relate to the report.
Also, please do not use panels or attempt to moderate the ticket. That will be done my bug tracker staff when decide it is needed..

Oops! I didn't know that!
People occasionally make mistakes
Mojang also added Labels: Performance
And Magdalena told me to add the specific device

It's Not Fixed. Even In The Caves and Cliffs Update It's still Like Before Chunk Not Loading This Causing FPS Drop and stuff but it's coming like if i run and chunk starts Loading its gets lagging and if I stop moving iam getting like 45+ FPS (sorry for bad English.)

Spencer: yes, Magdalena asked you to state the specific affected device. She meant the actual device that you personally use. However, what you did in response was copy the list of devices from MCPE-105892. That is not helpful.
Everyone: We would like to understand better how lag (delay) in block placement and breaking, and in chunk loading, is occurring for anyone after the 1.17 update. What would especially help is video showing the lag that you experience, along with information about your device and video settings.

This problem is a real pain when I'm trying to explore, because I have to wait for the dang chunks to load. It seems to only happen in worlds that are large in size because it only happens in my world that's 150MB.

I don't have issues with chunk loading on my mobile device but the delayed sound is pretty irritating. Chunk loading issues happen quite a bit on console however

1.16.100 startet the bug
it could be the new rendering engine ( Renderdragon )
Issues:
When a player is placing a block it shows up and sometimes it goes back in your inventory.
When a player is mining the destroying levels are showing up very late about a delay from 1 - 3 seconds, sometimes the update fix it for about 25 minutes.
When a player is using an item or any block like ( Doors, Levers, etc ) it has a delay.
When a player is opening his/hers inventory it got a long delay about 2 - 8 seconds
I experienced the bug only on the Android version the iOS version seems to be fine because i didnt have any issues with it. ( Devs or mods please check it yourself on the android version, if you guys dont get any issues then i dont know more i use an modern phone its an Samsung galaxy s20 128gb, the issue is very common my friend doesnt experience these issues i dont know why is it of his opengl or his android version? )

The desktop computer I am using to play bedrock is not new, but it should work fine (Intel Core i7 3700, Nvidia GTX 960, 16GB DDR3, fast SSD, Windows 10). I can run much more demanding games on it and almost all my settings are the lowset in the game, it still don't help and i have delay/lag when I destroy a block etc... It is most visible when I destroy a gravel and it falls down, the animation is super slow and glitchy. There are also lot of small things (this is big) that drives me crazy, so until all these things are fixed i will play java... even though it is not that pretty or fast, and least I can't see any bugs. Sorry guys I am also a programmer, I know it is hard... but you should have some testing systems there. I don't want new features, I want all so far to work smooth and to not have so much bugs. New features are pointless otherwise.

I play mcpe 1.17 with 4 g RAM and android 7.0 (the phone : doogee bl7000 ) , with 1.16 things were good when I was playing , but since 1.17 a big problem appeared which is the chunks loading problem which is sooo laggy and won't let you play even though there is no lag in the gameplay or a little lag that doesn't effect the game , when you walk in survival or fly in creative you will have to wait the biomes to generate and you will start seeing caves generation below (like spectator mode )

My son had enjoyed Minecraft PE for years, but this year it has not been working properly on the Samsung A50, Android 11. We updated to the latest version but still it won't open the inventory or pick up items properly. When you break a block no block appears to pick up for quite some time. In water, the character walks instead of swims. Also, if we set it to save external his Microsoft account it crashes while loading every time.

This bug has also appeared on my computer(Windows 10 2004) since 1.17.40.The entities, items and mobs are very lag. For example if I break a block, the block will drop very slow and the mobs ,entities cannot move as a normal speed. I cannot play minecraft because of this bug. So please fix as quick as you can.

In my experience, this happens on my laptop and Switch, but to a way lesser extent on PC.
Sounds seems to take a while to load in, then once have been played once - they play instantly when triggered again.

Just tested on bedrock 1.18 official, the issue is much less noticable now (it is playable), but still it is not perfect.
Here is a video of the issue (do not mind the glitchy sound, it is not like that in the game, just in the video): https://youtu.be/EELAdVqffWg
I hope it is possible to fix this. My computer specs are in the above comments.
Otherwise 1.18 is super great, good job!

I would agree that things are better in 1.18 but not perfect. Sometimes when flying around everything will load except one chunk in the middle of everything else and it will take an extra 5 seconds to load in.

This bug still apears in 1.18/1.18.1/1.18.2. Entities still lag seriously.

Yeah

Was once again flying around and chunks were loading in all around but one in the middle of the rest would take a lot longer to load in and I’d have to lower myself and directly stare at it… I’ve added another picture.

This issue started happening to me on Nintendo Switch after updating to 1.18

I can confirm sound lag in 1.18.2. As i mined for up to a minute without stopping using efficiently 4 on stone, the block sounds were up to a full block breaking sound cycle behind where they should be, and upon stopping I heard an extra sound of a block being broken even though I had stopped.

Still affects 1.18.2, mobs and blocks freeze for a short period then reapear

Could a behavior pack possibly be made that nerfs elytra so people don't fly as fast, making there be less lag?

It is especially bad on the nintendo switch version if I play the sonic the hedgehog dlc I will just run into an invisible chuck

I too can confirm that it's bad on the Switch. Playing on render distance 5 with no screen animations, no clouds, no fancy bubbles, & hide paper doll on.
Used to happen only during autosaves prior 1.18.30. Now it can happen upon loading a world & autosaves.
Logged in for the 1st time in a 1.18.33, 2mb vanilla world (excluding world creation), the surrounding chunks near/at spawn will not load for a solid 2-3 minutes despite being generated from world creation in previous session (which ran without noticeable issues surprisingly enough). The game seems to be fine afterwards. Haven't explored ~10 chunks from spawn.
Edit 1: 2nd login (3rd session)
Spawn chunks appeared normal. 1st entry (of this world) into the Nether; no initial problems.
Returned to overworld & met with invisible/unloaded chunks. Rendered within 2 minutes.
Reentered Nether & encountered 1 block break/entity lag spike that lasted ~3 minutes (not during autosave for both instances).
Explored up to ~600 blocks away from 0, 0
Save & quit within 2 minutes after leaving Nether will spike the file to 8mb. Relogging to save & quit once more reduced file to 5mb.
Side note: Ghasts can hold their shot (their eyes & mouth will remain open) until resuming line of sight with target. Java counterpart have no such behavior & have higher detection radius iirc.

On Nintendo Switch, single player.
Chunks load so slowly that they can be caught with a boat on water, and travel with an elytra beyond 6 chunks or so is pointless.
My observations with the elytra are post-1.18.30, but there were definitely chunk loading issues with boat beforehand, not sure if into 1.17 or not.
In a boat, you can just sit and wait it out. With the elytra, you just slowly sink to the ground at the chunk border unless you shoot a rocket straight up to keep altitude.

No added information on this one - but as a new Minecraft player who just got their first ever Elytra this bug is really infuriating.

You could try changing some video settings

Nothing really to add, but reiterating all these points below:
We've been playing on the Switch since 1.15 and have never had these kinds of issues. Chunks not loading for upwards of 90 seconds when exploring (by boat) new areas; placing blocks or opening the menu only to have the "loading swirly thingy" start spinning for up to 60 seconds; working on my castle only to find I'm all of a sudden dead because a block I'd placed didn't ever place and I fell to my death (though it didn't show on screen); the Nether (and other places with lots of particles) are basically unplayable.
I keep my video settings on extraordinarily low - no pretty leaves, no pretty sky, no pretty lights, etc, and this has only be happening (this badly - it's always been slow on switch but never this bad) since 1.19.
And to someone saying "try changing video settings," that's like literally the first thing most people do (and have said it in multiple comments here, meaning you didn't read the comments), so that's useless information. This is a bug, not a switch here and there that just isn't as powerful as someone else's switch...

Happens to me most of the time when I Join an already existing world. Some chunks are more often affected than others.
Edit: Or when I load multible chunks that never generated before very fast, when flying with Elytra and fireworks for example.

Affects 1.19.11 and 1.19.20.24

This only seems to affect me in the air while flying, mainly with riptide in the rain, but has happened once with a rocket. Also I've hit this invisible wall so fast that it has damaged me.

I would like to see an update on this problem also.
I have a heavy high end-pc and minecraft runs smooth in single player. But the realm is a drama (sometimes).
We are with 5-6 players on this realm and we all have problems with chuncks not loading or loading extreem slow. MC 1.18 or lower hardly had this problem.
Also some of the people experience lag, some more then others. And yes, they also have good internet and pc's. Good enough for MC. I do notice when i play alone on the server, it goes way faster, but still. A realm is ment for 10 players max, so if 5-6 people are on at the same time, i expect it to still load fast enough for people to be able to play normal. I understand more players = slower, but chuncks not loading at all is bad. Some people lost stuf becasuse of this.
So Mojang, could you pls drop a update how things are going? Seeing the ticket status you did not even start working on this 😞

Honestly on the Nintendo switch this is still horrible. To the point that exploring becomes impossible. Even walking large chunks I can just catch up to world loading. Seeing as how long this issue is around I am suprised this has still not been fixed.

Im Playing on Nintendo Switch local single player only. only started playing on 1.19 a few months ago. The performance is awful in two situations particularly. as stated above exploring while moving fast flying/boat is painfully slow world generation.
Iv found while mining underground particularly bad as well. sometimes i have to break a block... wait a second for it break.. repeat... makes for very slow game progress.
I play with graphics all set to minimum...
Can any other user defined setting be added that we could decrease to improve things?
thanks

It is horrible in playstation 4 as well. It is imposible to explore or even travel with the elytras arround the world. Chunk barriers appear really fast and travelling long distances is just anoying because of this glitch.
I haven't seen improvements since 1.17. I think solving this should be a pryority for next versions.

Nintendo Switch 1.19.40
"Current Workaround: Have as many sounds as possible played before venturing. (Ex: Getting hit by an arrow 5-10 mins after loading world has a chance to cause a freeze, as opposed to getting hit by an arrow right away & onwards per login.)"
Excerpt from MCPE-154110 on Sept 7, 2022
TL;DR: The following is what I discovered so far pertaining to the audio delay issue.
Blocks whose sound sync that are temporarily fixed after breaking/tap mining/jumping on them once (for that specific login):
Breaking:
Plants that share the same SFX as breaking a Grass Block
Wood Logs (any type would fix all of them)
Stems & Hyphae
Cobblestone (would fix most stone types)
Stone (don't know why these are separate from other stones
Climbing & breaking Vines & its Nether variants
Picking & breaking Glow Berry Vines
Dirt (would fix any block that share its SFX)
Blocks that share the same SFX as Nether Brick Blocks
Tap mining (plus jumping/walking):
Climbing & tap mining Ladders
Soul Sand
Froglights
Nylium takes a significantly longer time to play their sounds when interacted
Workaround doesn't work on the following:
Copper & its variants
Deepslate & its variants that share the same SFX
Mud & its variants, especially Packed Mud
Lava Bucket interaction
Minecart movement (sounds come & go)
Entities also share this bug. Each & every one of them needs to play the all of their sounds at least once for the temporary fix.
Sounds fight to play all at once can be recreated using a mob farm.
So if something uncommon like Witches, Phantoms, or Pillager Patrols appear after a while of gameplay, they can create a huge sound delay spike (freezing on Switch).
I'm sorry this is lengthy, but it may help someone have a better gameplay experience until this is fixed.

This is now effecting us to where we can’t even move or even get on the game to play. We aren’t flying or anything so it doesn’t have anything to do with that. Getting to the point that we’re about done with playing Minecraft again. 🤬

This annoying bug even happens on my pc which shouldn't have any problems rendering chunks fast enough. When I fly a lot with fireworks or riptide in rain I eventually hit an invisible wall where chunks can't render at the same speed that I'm flying. Please note that this has become much worse since the 1.19.40 update. And for over a year now I frequently get that bug where lonely chunks in the middle of everything just won't load until i wait and stare at it for half a minute. The game loads chunks far away first instead of the one I am literally right in front of. This rendering issue has been around for so long now and I wish the devs would finally work on a fix. I can only assume that lots of performance and "lag" related issues are somewhat related to this one.

This happens to me too.. it's literally unplayable..

How is this being auto resolved as unreproducible when it's been around since 3/21, almost two years, and has hundreds of people complaining.
To reproduce: make a creative world in realms. Log in with two people, I cannot get it to break with one player. Fly around near each other fast opening chunks and rendering areas. Within 15 minutes the world will stop loading and one or both of you will hit a wall at that point. From there you can only force close the app. PS4 /bedrock. Realms. Stop auto closing things that are actual confirmed problems. Do better.

It still happen in 1.19.60 update please resolved as open

Resolved? So its intended gameplay for you to hit a chunk loading wall after 3 rockets when using elytra on Switch on a brand spanking new world? Because if that's the quality standard for bedrock I want my money back.
Reopening for review.
There's not always a straightforward way to reproduce the issue, but we appreciate the additional context - thank you for your patience!
To make bug reports as effective as possible, please try and include the following steps to reproduce the problem, as mentioned in the the example given here.

Affects 1.19.62.....

Hello!
My ticket was linked to this issue so I wanted to share the input I had in that ticket:
Minecraft on the Switch (digital version) has been experiencing bad FPS, loading times, access to the marketplace, and chunk rendering. I've had this problem for a long time, but I typically try to grin and bear it. However, every new update makes it more unplayable on the Switch. I can't walk anywhere without large missing sections. Almost five minutes in, everything slows down tremendously. I've never been able to get the marketplace to work too. I don't think I need that, but it was worth mentioning that it never works. For that matter, the skins don't work either.
Since reporting this issue in the last week, I have been bounced around by Minecraft customer support. They sent me to Nintendo and now here. From a customer service background, I am just getting the run-around. I don't feel like it is the Switch; none of my other games have these issues when docked, it is just Minecraft (ironically, Minecraft Dungeons gives me issues too, but not as bad as classic Minecraft).
I have taken the previous advice from this site, Reddit, and several customer support agents over the years. Here is everything I have tried:
I contacted Nintendo per the request of Minecraft customer support, Nintendo customer support said, "we don't have any troubleshooting steps available for this type of issue that is related to the game itself. The developer has to provide you with any other troubleshooting or additional steps in order to find a solution for this issue."
I fully restarted my console from the power options in settings and selected and launched Minecraft without opening other games or apps.
I tried not signing into a Microsoft account (I wish I didn't need to anyway). Honestly, I feel like this option makes it worse. Minecraft is constantly trying to connect to something, which tanks the game performance for me. I also lose the ability to switch skins (even the ability to switch between Steve and Alex).
I deleted all of my worlds (which hurt the most) and started fresh. This solution helps until the world reaches about 30MB.
I dropped all of my settings to the most optimized and least demanding.
I am attaching screenshots of the issues. Some I could not capture with a screenshot (how do you screenshot low FPS/ lag, issues with skins, items not appearing, or loading times?), but I did capture the chunks not loading in and my settings. If I can send other images to help troubleshoot let me know.
Is there something I can do or download to improve the FPS? Is there a free texture pack on the Switch that can help with FPS similar to the PC version? Can I create a smaller world? Maybe scale back the updates? I am open to anything at this point as I would rather play the game than have it be so slow.
If there are any options, please let me know! I feel like Minecraft on the Switch has been unplayable since I got it three years ago, and it is just getting worse. There must be some solution now.
Thank you for your help!

Still happening on 1.19.81. I am playing on the Windows 10 version and occasionally the Xbox One version. Both affected by this. I nearly lost everything I had whist flying with Elytra. Chunk load wall killed me with the death message "Etanarvazac fell from a high place" spite the fact that I was flying well above the world build limit (320) while filling a series of maps out. Thankfully I have a backup of the world. But I lost all of that progress I have made...
I have also died from this issue twice on a realm while I was hunting for a specific biome. Thankfully, the realm owner rolled back both times.

Chunk loading seems a LOT faster in 1.20.0.23.

Lumping all of the chunk loading and sound loading issues across all Bedrock platforms seems counterproductive, both from a bug report perspective (there is no longer one bug being reported and counted as part of this bug), as well as from a triage perspective on the Mojang side (how can you possibly try to reproduce something like this that has taken on a life of its own and is now so broad a topic as to be meaningless?).
There are at least four separate bugs identified just within the visible handful of comments shown when you first open this ticket:
Chunk loading issues - this is being reported inconsistently across multiple platforms in different reported scenarios. My personal experience, and what I was redirected here for, is on Switch, where chunk loading issues happen 100% of the time, regardless of size of the world, without requiring the player to be moving faster than on foot sprinting, even with render distance set at the lowest setting. This segment alone needs to be broken up into individual bugs for it to make any level of sense or turn into an actionable bug.
Performance / frame rate issues - again, being reported across multiple platforms, but seems concentrated on Switch. I have not experienced this issue at all, just the chunk loading issue, so again, lumping in my report with this massive, unwieldy thing is both counterproductive, and inappropriate.
Skin and Marketplace content unavailable / non-functional - again seemingly focused on Switch, but the skin loading issue has been a known problem across all Bedrock platforms for years (known issue to players, at least - all tickets I am aware of about this have been closed as either "cannot repro" or "fixed" in spite of the constant flood of players experiencing the issue).
Sound loading lag - I've experienced this on Xbox One (original Xbox One, and Xbox One X), PC, and Switch. Sounds will just not play, but get queued and eventually the whole queue plays at once, and sometimes it stays caught up, but frequently does not. Does not seem to be worse on any particular one of the platforms I have available to me. Sometimes sounds just don't play at all, and aren't even queued - just skips them entirely. This is all sounds, both in game sounds and UI sounds, both while a world is loaded and within the system menus before or after a world has been loaded.
I am quite sure if I dig further through the comments, there will be even more issues being lumped in here by having their tickets closed as duplicates of this one massive, "the game is broken" ticket.

I agree with the comment made by user Erin Anderson, because I am experiencing only one of the four separate issues they suggested this bug report be split into (sound delay bug), and all the different issues they mentioned seem to be able to happen separately from each other. As for the sound delay bug-- I am playing on the Nintendo Switch edition of the game, on the latest version as of 1/20/24, and every time I load up my world, occasionally new sounds (sounds that the game hasn't played yet in the current play session) don't play and get queued until quite a few seconds later, when they all play at once.
This glitch occurred earlier today where I didn't hear the sound of a ghast spitting fireballs at me until I was already on fire and another fireball was on its way. After about three or four completely silent ghast fireballs, all the explosion noises played at once and every fireball after that began audibly exploding normally.
To reproduce this part of the bug:
Open a Minecraft world that has been played in before. The bigger the file size, the easier it is to reproduce.
Do normal Minecraft things that make noise, such as walking on all different kinds of blocks, opening and closing doors, and taking damage.
Notice how, especially when the world is auto-saving, sometimes these sounds don't play normally. Every action done that would have made sound is silent, until a few seconds later where every noise made suddenly plays at once. When all the sounds suddenly play at once, they will play at the location they were originally created from, so stay within audio range.
Unfortunately, this is difficult to reproduce because it's somewhat inconsistent. You can't force it to happen on command, but given enough time it will happen.

I have an issue that I know is without question related to this problem that is not included in the list of issues. Its likely related to the central problem causing the delayed sound and the delayed chunk loading. I do believe that the Minecraft Marketplace is causing the problem as I have experienced all these issues on my Gaming Computer as well as Nintendo Switch ( computer specs are RTX 2060 GPU 9th gen i7 CPU approx 32GB ram). This error is extremely repeatable though on the Nintendo Switch and unclear on repeatability on computer. I extremely believe that the Minecraft Marketplace is the culprit [very little doubt]. error message, "slow-running script detected" followed by behavior pack and seconds average in "()". It's important to realize though that the behavior pack isn't actually the culprit and I've had this message happen anytime under any circumstance even on the menu screen before when scrolling through the marketplace on both Computer and Nintendo Switch.
I can repeat this 100% of the time by the following steps (note that you can get this message under any condition though and can be as simple as opening Minecraft)
1. Download path of the Jedi world from the Market place
2. create the world template
3. Launch the world
4. play on world for few moments and error will appear (this will not occur on computer because of the excess memory and reading speed through the drive if an SSD which the Switch does not have)
added screenshot for proof
[media]
Possible fix, test prototype DEV version under no marketplace and see if issues are repeatable (chunk loading and sound delay issues remove marketplace from pause menu and main menu). if not it might be advisable to change how the marketplace works completely and importantly optimize the system. tying the system into url's might be advisable.

Is there any timeline or roadmap on when we can expect this to be fixed? This issue is making transportation via elytra, and creative mode movement very difficult (Especially on Xbox).

This is being fixed in 1.21.40.20 preview for Nintendo Switch

@unknown:
The preview isn't available on switch

That's what it says in the changelog: 'Made a change to Nintendo Switch with chunk loading'.

GreasyBat735419, That fix was for Nintendo Switch specifically, and unrelated to this issue which affects multiple platforms.

I appreciate the info from GreasyBat. Nintendo Switch is why I'm here, and the information is relevant. It would presumably take quite a few fixes to address the entire scope of problems that this issue documents.
The changelog cites this issue:
https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/29937458432397-Minecraft-Beta-Preview-1-21-40-20

There are currently no real fix for Switch. I’ve just a message about chunk loading that could cause performance issues… And when I’m mining some blocks still visible but « unbreakable » for few seconds.
I’m using the latest version 1.21.50 on switch oled

Can confirm chunk loading is still insanely slow in 1.21.71 hotfix
